I’m being pressured to make space & sell a car. I have an absolutely prestige time capsule, 1999 C43. Engine bay looks new, interior looks new. Exterior and mechanicals are new. It’s a perfect example and I’m wondering what it’s worth? Thank you for any insightful comments. If I wasn’t needing to keep room for a ‘05 e55 wagon, a 92 500e and a g5, this would not be selling. Thx!!
Or at least mileage and some other pertinent information!
A black on black C43 with 47k miles (yours?) didn't meet reserve on BaT in March, with a high bid of $17,800, so I think your price of $28k that you have posted elsewhere in this forum is probably unrealistic, IMHO.

You can ask whatever you want for one obviously but it wont sell. The highest ive seen these hit is 17-18k and that on BAT auctions and they are 40-50k mile rare color example and usually a c36
Look a little more closely at this one. You can spot some shoddy body work from being rear-ended, particularly the left side where the metal is bent and the gaps between the body and light cluster are tight and uneven. Gaps all around trunk are messed up too - very tight on right side, big on left side. You don't see this in the small pics on Craigslist.

true, and the c43 is only known by AMG guys, average bmw/jdm fan wouldn’t think to search c43 so i doesn’t get much attention although it was in Romeo must die.
Pressured to sell + unrealistic sales price = not going to sell. Which is probably what the seller wanted anyway. But honey....no one will buy it!
it probably wouldn’t sell if it had HRE wheels, m113k, kw suspension, and etc because Renntech is selling one for about 20k and that hasn’t sold. this car is for the chosen ones and a lot of people who don’t know what it is want it when they see it in public.

22 X3, 21 330e, 97 M3, 97 C36 (sold), but on the hunt for a clean, low-mile C43!

Really? Then you better sell it to him before he comes to his senses...and then run as fast as you can! LOL
Yeah, pretty much in line with everyone else here, what you think you can sell it for is pretty much highway robbery and only applicable to someone with more money than brains. I think we all here know what these things are worth, and it's not even close to what you're asking. Maybe half that on a good day. In fact, just so you know, there was a guy on this forum not too long ago, who had an identical car as yours, a "time capsule" as you've called it, with even less miles than yours (only 40K miles), and he asked for $14K and still got no bites, but finally sold it after a few months for considerably less than that. So again, if you really got an offer for $26K, grab it and run!!
I agree with PJmak if you find a c43 with all the bells and whistles you pay what it’s worth to you
some car guys value their car so much it’s priceless to them doesn’t matter if you have money or brains
when you gotta have a car you jump out the window and take a chance on it before it’s gone I missed a few c43s
by procratinating when i purchased my first c43 I looked for months couldn’t find one in fair condition, this was like 2 years ago
I must of looked at 6 beaters before I found a decent looking one in fair condition I wanted one so bad I
over payed $6,500 for a 1998 c43 with 123k silver with OEM 17s and a few scratches but i was happy with it and still
have it and love driving It’s probably worth $6500 today with 18s serviced and lots of TLC I’ve put into it
but I wouldn’t sell it even if they offered me 10k
i believe my c43 is absolutely worthless. the only thing it has going for it is the engine swap i did a couple years ago. maybe i could get 5k if im lucky. i keep it because i like it. c36 is gonna be much more valuable in the end.
Respectfully, anyone listingtheir w202s for those "vaulted ceiling prices" are all fooling themselves they can get those kind of dollars. No doubt, a handful of them are decent and well-cared for, but it's just a matter of demand and whos willing to throw top dollar into a w202 w203 on steroids.
There is still one on the Westcoast - 1999 C43 STILL LISTED ($10K usd) for over 6 months and NOTHING.
A 95 C36 (advertising as RARE) for the same pesos (and it's a bloody rebuilt too!)
GL finding out about all the hidden (treasure) issues on this C36 puppy. It too, has been relisted for several months.
But you never know what can happen, there's always an emotional buyer out there.

poster sounds like a pitch-man, so its not like you are talking to owner. most likely they have the car on consignment.
sorry i was looking at the craigslist link up on this page. i dont think someone that has owned this model car for a long time would try to sell for such a high price. if youve been holding the c43 for 20 years in hopes of selling it, then you are probably old enough to know you arent making any sense. these pitches are more from an opportunist type person. so im guessing they recently got the car for free or family member of person that really owns the car
