MOD IT!!! A dropped red C43 with a 5.4 in it, yes please! Also think about where you would be selling it. I guarantee it would have zero problems selling on BaT. Over the years I have been counting C43's I've come across, so far I have seen 14 (15 including my own). 1 was red and it stands out in my memory. Red is the 2nd best color for a C43, 040 black being the best
That cars a keeper , between the story behind it how he got it , and all the time he’s spending getting it back to the bad *** car that it is .
Thats the nature of owning these car finding them and doing everything your self ,you take pride in what you own .

Are those rims off of an R129 SL600?
Turns out red is extremely rare. In 98 there are only a few dozen imported. I am cracking down the vin numbers and im through 330 out of 550 1998 c43 vins. So far only 21 are red. Im able to check mileage on all of them and so far mine is the lowest mileage.
Realising that having potentially the lowest mileage red c43 makes me want to keep the stock motor in it. I will. Lower it kn the sl600 wheels but no 5.4 swap until I have room to store the original 4.2 motor.
This is exactly how I wanted it. I appreciate it more when I know I went throuh it my self and made sure everything is clean.
Every piece I clean needs to be separated and as a standalone piece. I wont clean the seats or the wood trim while its in the car. It needs to come out and be thoroughly cleaned .
For example, even the plastic covers that cover the end of seat rails where they bolt down is cleaned separately.
So Far I've replaced:
-metal backing plate in the passenger foot well
-passenger carpet
-rear seat belts because the red color on the part that clicks faded
Didnt have too much time so i tackled some little things like cleaning the radiatoe supporkt and some of the front. Also cleaned one of the door panels.
I was going through some old pictures i took and I found these pics. These were taken in 2009 here in downtown and I remember being so excited when I saw this car.
If you look at the plate number and the sticker ynderneath the driver side tail light......its my car :o
Its the same car I bought and that I am now restoring ten years later
