Manual Swapped C43 Gauging Interest
Hello everyone, I have a 1999 C43 that I've manual swapped with my brother. Just want to see what I can possibly get for it. I have plans on getting engaged, I know I know, and could use the money. I'm in Los Angeles, and I assume the car has spent all its life here as well. I believe I'm the third owner, and I have a Clean California title in my name, tags are good till March 2020.
Yes it runs and drives great
Engine:
Stock, and I mean stock, no exhaust work or headers, all stock
Check engine light is on
Starts every time
Transmission:
6 Speed transmission and Dual Mass flywheel from a C320 coupe
Brand new LUK clutch
Sport pedals from a Crossfire
Custom made metal and braided clutch line
New Slave cylinder and bearing
A new Shifter from a 203 that doesn't fit very well, maybe could have the shifter frame redone from a 202?
I have an extra manual transmission from a Chrysler Crossfire
Had to Cut the tunnel just a little for the shifter to come through without it touching anything
Interior:
Car is originally a tuxedo interior car, but seats were not in great shape and replaced with seats from a all black interior C43
Headliner was sagging, just had that done in all black "suede" including the pillars
Seats are in good shape no tears, maybe small bolster wear on the driver side thats all
Tint was crap, getting rid of that so, car will come without tint (looks better in my opinion)
I hear a vacuum leak coming from the passenger side seat
The air control seat adjustments do not work, but seats do move around no problem
Exterior:
So yeah... sort of needs a paint job. Car is Silver I'll post pics soon
Nickel and Dime dents here and there, biggest one is under driver side taillight
Clear Corners, Factory Xenons
I have a VIS carbon Fiber hood in ok condition sitting in the garage
Wheel/Suspension:
Has wheels from a SL55 the multispoke ones not sure what they're called but always wanted this car with those wheels
Continental tires in good shape don't leak air or anything. Fronts have more tread than rears. But they don't need to be changed anytime soon
Brakes were replaced by previous owner
I have a brand new, still in the box, set of K-sport coilovers (just haven't had time to install)
Car could use some ball joints, follows the camber in the road
There is a clunking sound in the rear when shifting, but not there if you shift smoothly. Not sure what it might be, possibly rear frame bushing or one of the control arms
Not really much else I can think of right now. Give me a little time to upload pictures. I'm a traveling nurse I drive all day, and I feel bad the car just sits there, I don't have much time to enjoy it. Just call me I'm much easier to reach on the phone. Leave a message if I don't answer, I'll call back, I'm probably at a patients house. (818) 457-7551

I want to manual swap my car but it has the HPS supercharger on it. Do you think the manual be able to hold the additional power?
I really want to see pics of this!

Car is now in NY, awaiting transfer of gearbox to my C43. If anyone wants this one once I'm done let me know, it came with an extra manual gearbox which I can include. In the meantime it's hanging with all it's Porsche cousins. Thanks to Gregor for making it happen!!!

Nice, but I would also do away with the secondary cats and resonator while the exhaust is off the vehicle. You won't regret it

The swap is done, the silver car is gone. I drove the black C43 today and it fits with my philosophy of what a sports car should be, any real sports car when pushed should incite a little bit of terror, this car did, much more so then when it had the automatic gearbox. Still have a problem with the computer tripping the check engine light. Apparently there is a speed sensor in the automatic gearbox and the computer keeps looking for it, when it can't find it the Check Engine light gets tripped. If anyone has any ideas, we are out of them.
But I have a year to figure it out before my reg expires and it won't pass inspection, in the meantime, I hunting for the redline!

I wish it was that easy, I think that is what the dealer tried, but since the C43 never had a manual gearbox, even in ROW, it was a dead end. Renntech said they could do it, but needed the car in FL, trying to avoid that.
