Ill take it if its not already sold. Isnt it a bit of a pain to attempt desaudering and setting it up yourself?

Your Mercedes-Benz C36 3.6 utilizes a Surface Mount Chip (SMT) – a very sophisticated and powerful memory device which is fitted to many late model (post 1996) vehicles. Because of its complexity, the SMT style chip must be de-soldered by a trained specialist in electronics soldering. The ECU itself is very easy to remove, and should be sent overnight to be modified by Powerchip. Powerchip will modify the ECU and return it overnight to you. Detailed instructions (including photos) are provided to ensure the removal takes place as smoothly as possible, which means you are back on the road to enjoy your enhanced performance – as soon as possible.

In standard form, the C36 3.6 produces 268 hp and 280 lb.-ft.

Powerchip has a range of chips to suit your car, which can increase it's power to between 286 hp and 292 hp, and it's torque to between 299 lb.-ft and 305 lb.-ft.

Some ECU's have DIP sockets... some need to have a socket installed.
Let me know if you need directions on removing it. BTW, I ended up buying this powerchip.

I got the Powerchip with directions. My ECU was suposed to have a socket to insert the chip but it didn't. I guess the ECU on my car was replaced as a warrenty repair and the new one had the chip suface mount soldered on the main board. I took my ECU to a professional electronics repair shop to try and get it installed. We removed the old chip on the ECU and soldered in the new Powerchip. My car then wouldn't start. I was possitive that the chip was mounted correctly and that everything checked out. We went ahead and desoldered the powerchip and put my old facory chip back on. Once that happened my car worked and started fine... I can only think that the Powerchip I got was bad. I ordered annother ECU for my car from a 1996 C36 and M104 is sending me a replacement powerchip next week. I will let everyone know how it goes. I'm sure with two ECU's and annother Powerchip getting it working shouldn't be a problem...
