Want to get some thoughts on driving the c43 in winter. Keep in mind that I do know that the best thing to do is park it in the garage but I don't have that option. And I do know how to drive in winter snow. But even so at times the car gets stuck on 4 to 5 inches of snow. I have aftermarket suspension so car sits really low. I also have 17 inch wheels with brand new blizzacks all around. And car is set to W for winter driving..... So for winter driving would it be better to: - have the stock/oem suspension? Meaning the car would be higher than a performance suspension. - where would it be best to place added weight in the rear? Like right behind the back seats? Or right on top of the rear seats with a cover to protect seats and strap down whatever used for weight? Which would help get better traction? Or all the way back in the trunk by rear tail lights? - And how much weight would you recommend to add for traction?
That’s tough. I recently picked one up as a daily, but it’s completely stock. I also have blizzacks on the car (I have 19s). I would say as a seasoned winter driver the blizzacks, AWD, and factory suspension has been an impressive combo. I imagine your issue is how low the car is. the stock suspension would be the best fix imo . We got five inches, had an ice storm on top of it last night, and I had zero issues.
Depending on where you reside I think you’ll be fine with the blizzacks. Just keep a lot of space and watch your momentum. Also, I don’t believe adding weight will do too much. I have a coupe and I have zero weight in the car.
George, I think you basically need good snow tires and a very light foot, like driving with an egg between your foot and the accelerator pedal. I don't think height of suspension will have much influence, but the narrower the tire, the better grip you will have. The winter set-up as recommended by the Factory is a square one with same size wheels and tires front and rear. Also a LSD will greatly help too, but that is less common to find in a C43.
For info, I'm running a square set-up with 225/40s on my C63 coupe with standard 18" wheels and I have the LSD option installed. Haven't had any traction problems for the moment when leaving the "nanny" modes all connected.

Thanks Daniel. As I wrote i do have brand new blizzacks all around. And I do drive slow that's not an issue... Just backng up into the garage the rear tires get stuck on the snow and starts to spin. I think I might have to much weight on the back. That might be causing the rear tires to sink to much into the snow and spins, if that even makes sense.

Backing up wheel spin is probably caused by weight transfert to the front.
Have you thought getting a shovel to remove the snow?
