Thanks for the link. After reviewing the details and looking at the photos, it certainly does look like a very well looked after example. Also I see that it still has the Factory exhaust which is something of a rarity these days. Nice to see also the AMG floor mats

I wish I had kept the mid section I had removed from mine. To think I paid $125 to have them cut out and thrown away...

Same, except I hacked mine up myself and welded a Y-pipe in.

I still have mine as I needed to put them back in when going to the mandatory road worthy test every two years. Thankfully the last two times they didn't say anything or didn't see the difference. They do check each time the part # on the muffler...

So what are you allowed to do in Switzerland? Do you have to go back nearly completely stock every 2 years?

22 X3, 21 330e, 97 M3, 97 C36 (sold), but on the hunt for a clean, low-mile C43!
That might actually be a good buy if the auction ended right now at the price it's at - ~$8,500, although that might still be a tad high for that mileage. But knowing the crazy bidders on BaT, I'm sure it'll fetch stupid money like others before it.

I don’t think that’s high at all . I’m the highest bidder at $8600 ,,,, it’s a rare color and the car has a good maintenance history , plus these c43s are getting harder and harder to find , I’m not gonna pay stupid money for it

But again I stress our cars should be up in value at least between $10 & $20k based on condition . lm always on the hunt for a nice c43 but when I find one at a fair price I never hesitate to buy it gotta be quick to pull the trigger,I’ve missed a few good ones by waiting , best time to buy is when you see one .
BaT auctions tend to get crazy I agree but if it’s something you want I’m mean you really want get stupid and ****** it up
You still on the hunt for yours or you found one already ?
high or low miles as long as it’s been well kept and maintained they run great

Nothing if it hasn't been previously certified by one of the two official laboratories. OK most of the stuff you can buy here has official certification, so that's all good: suspension, wheels, etc. Some exhaust systems specially for newer models are also certified, but for the older vehicles it's a bit of touch and go depending if the inspector is strict or if he closes an eye. Yes, it can happen like for my secondary cat and resonator delete which has passed twice now without having to revert to the OE system just for the test. Of course if the noise is too loud that will be an automatic fail.I have seen also that if the emissions remain at the level homologated for the vehicle that certainly helps.

I am with you. These cars are awesome. It deserves at least 15k final price.
My 2000 C43 with 155k still runs amazing. Doubt I will ever sell it.

Still on the hunt for mine, but I'm in no rush, I have plenty of cars/toys to keep me busy. While I agree that the C43 is a rare car, I just don't agree with the majority of the guys on this forum who think their values should be through the roof. I base my judgment on personal experiences, as I had the opportunity to purchase several examples around 60k-80k miles all well under $8K. And one with only 40k miles for $11K! Unfortunately, the timing and/or circumstances for each just didn't work for me. So based on that bar, I just can't and won't spend more than this, and if it means I'll be waiting a long time, that's perfectly fine (for obvious reasons, I completely avoid BaT). I'm confident I'll find the right car at the right price eventually.

Fair enough , but your hunt then is not your hunt now times are change and so are the prices , if you passed on several plus c43s I don’t think it’s the cars it’s you those days are long gone buddy . If I find a c43 with under 80k for $8000 or under lol damn sure as hell we fighting that ***** that c43 is coming home with me you best believe that
Im with ALL the forum members here that our c43s are special and deserve to be at the right value if you didn’t buy a c43 with 40k miles for $11k your nuts
that’s worse then the guys on BaT but they just having a pissing contest well most of them . I really enjoy these bad boys maybe if you buy one and drive one you would understand
I bleed AMG c43
If your not passionate about these c43s as the rest of us on this forum y you even on the forum , until you buy one let us enjoy ours and watch the values go up higher and higher
I’m sure lots of us have other toys , doesn’t matter if you payed $1000 or $40k for a c43 it’s the price you put on happiness
we all would love to find deals but the value is there these c43s are worth more then before bottom line so either buy one and join us
or just hunt one down

Random thought:

I get a kick out of seeing "so many" C43's in the US pop up for sale. So very very few of them were imported here, 1400 I believe. But you still see so many of them around and almost none of them are true "low miles" examples.

My theory is that the cars were so comfortable and reliable that people just drove them and drove them. Because they were never a cultural icon like an M3, their value continued to fall for many years. But the people owning them still drove them; "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." And now that their value is coming up, people who have been driving a C43 for 15 years with no issues are listing them for sale and getting the same (or more) money than they paid for them.

you think some of these c43s were altered miles ? could be possible but it always pays to research any car your buying wear and tear signs
and other let tail signs to look for if your buying a low mile c43 . Cluster mechanism is pretty simple on our cars but computer memory and programming would have to be
preformed I’m assuming but for the most part I can say I’m content with my c43s mileage history
