Installing 15mm Spacers

Hi all, I've ordered some springs and spacers that I'm going to install over the weekend. It's occured to me that I obviously need different bolts that add +15mm to the original ones, what is the exact bolt size I need and can anyone recommend some good ones! I'm currently running the 17" monoblocks that came with the C43 AMG.

I find the wheels could come out more, and the suspension could drop around an inch or 2 for a sportier look. I'll post pictures later, it will look nice. 36k miles, I plan to keep it mostly OEM.

Wow 36k that’s great. You’re right about the wheels coming out some more. If you find some good bolts please post. I’ve tried several ones and they all rust. If you get some and they are a bit to big you could just grind them down with a good sander.

do post pics I’m sure that car looks great.

I surely will, interior and exterior! I had the same idea to grind down longer bolts if I found them, but we'll see. I'm going to a performance shop on Saturday (if my springs come in on time) and will hopefully be able to show what I've got put together.

This is just a suggestion. And I’m sure most everyone would suggest it to you too. Try finding some nice 18 inch wheels from an E class. You said you wanted your car to look sporty. The 17s won’t really get you that like the 18s will.

With the 17s it might look to low if you lower 2 inches. I made the mistake on my car by buying wheels from an S class so I need thick spacers. With the E class wheels you won’t need spacers and the wheels will look great on the car. If you want them to stick out more than you will need spacers but very little thickness.

I agree with speed43. That being said, I did a stud conversion on mine and I would recommend going that route. I have E55 wheels on mine and I used this kit: https://motorsporthardware.com/produ...ud-kit-12x1-5/

Number of Lugs: 5-Lugs
Standard Nut Options: 5 LUG - Silver Ball seat nuts for OEM wheels
MH Racing Nuts: NO

I would love to do this to my cars. We have to change wheels for winter than summer.

Can you post some pic of your wheel up close? Price is 115 for all 4 wheels, that’s not bad at all.

Did you have any problems with the bolts touching anything in the rear hubs? I know the front you can install long bolts and won’t touch anything. But if the bolts are to long they will touch metal in rear and cause wheels to lock or make a rubbing sound metal to metal. Hope this makes sense.

I had to shave of some of the bolts for the rear cause they where like a 1/4 to long.

No install issues with the studs and they've been on for a couple of years now. My C43 is stored away at another location as I live in the city and parking is limited, but next time I go get it out, I'll get some pictures and share.

My signature pic does have the studs on. The bullet noses sits just inboard of the face of the wheel at this length, which is exactly what I was looking for, but I've got plenty of length to run spacers if I wanted to.

I have definitely considered this, but rubbing does concern me. If it doesn't look good even with the spacers, I wouldn't care to reconsider things. However, I do have good faith in it from examples I've seen.

So getting one for $20k... let alone finding one below 50,000 miles... is going to be pretty slim. Your numbers kind of went against your point, lol.

Older photo when I put the ambers on, but the car is in storage. I live north of Chicago, so I want to avoid salt as much as possible.

oh man, I understand now, hah

sorry about that!

Take extreme care of those two-tone seats and get them treated if you haven't already. The white part wears significantly faster than black parts!

Gorgeous car, mine is very similar, except yours is not a clapped out sh*tbox like mine!

If your stock bolts are in fine shape, use a grinder take some material off.Needed to that when i put my 18 x 9.5 rear wheels on.My lugs were perfect and didn't want to replace.Easy peasy.

EcTurbo did you receive an email after placing your order with Motorsport Hardware? I ordered last week and got no email stating they got the order and thank you etc….
I called and no one answered. Hopefully they will call back.

EDIT:

Received it so all good. Wish they would send an email to customers…
