I've got a 98' C43 I picked up over the summer. Records from the seller shows it had it's services done before the sale, I attached them below.
Anyways, transmission started slipping a couple months back. If I hit a certain tight or wide turn (very situational) going 20 or so and tried to accelerating, it would drop into neutral and sort of jerk.
I've been pretty careful about it but alas it finally caught up to me in a bad instance where I accelerated into a turn, it jerked pretty bad once or twice and threw a check engine light on. It drove home just fine after the incident but it certainly needs to be checked out.
I'm going to get it checked out on Wednesday and in a couple weeks with another good tech, wanted to hear any thoughts or advice. No strange leaks or anything from what I've seen. Turned it on this morning, there is a whine coming from the very front of the engine.
Update 4/27/22: Dropped it off at the technician today, the transmission appears to have a small leak that is dripping the fluid all over the exhaust and parts of the lower transmission. Transmission fluid was almost completely out.
Worst case scenario they need to pull out the transmission to clean up the mess, $3k. Let's hope that doesn't happen?
Cont. Update 4/27/22: Picked the car back up, turns out the last guy who "serviced" it didn't actually refill the transmission fluid at all. It had less than half a quart of the stuff. Bearings were practically gone, so had those replaced. Car drives beautifully now!
Will be driving it around and testing things to make sure all is well. Hopefully, I do not have to revisit this thread but if I do - I will continue to document to help others.

How much did it cost you in total?
Shop mechanic did he need to replace all brass bearings, nothing else damaged in the transmission?
There were hardly any lubrication in the tranny.
Must have been an amateur tech working in this car before?

That’s what I’m thinking, or the guy got scammed - either way, ridiculous.
I paid about $490 after tax, assuming a couple hours for labor, then parts and liquids. Seems like a good price to me.
If tranny is low on fluid there is no drive to move the car forward.
It's funny you mention that, when I was taking it to the shop it got extremely sketchy. The car would have a really hard time getting into first gear. I'm not sure what bearings were replaced.
