Aftermarket Radio Question
Hello,
ivr decided to replace my Bose with some aftermarket setups and bypass everything. I bought a blaupunkt radio, some morels jl amp and a sub. The install is relatively smooth although I’m having an issue with the radio.
I wired it all up using harnesses. No spliced crap, red to red yellow to yellow ground to ground etc etc. when I plugged in the harness I was able to turn on the radio with no key. I tested voltage and switched voltage and it was all good. Yellow constant red switched. I’m an old school installer and worked at a shop for a few years in the 90s so I’m not totally clueless but this is a strange one. Any ideas?

You could do this in every Mercedes I've ever owned. I can turn on the radio in my 99 C43 without the key. Made for lots of nights in college of parking my car nearby a party with the windows down and blasting good tunes.

I know Mercedes' harnesses are like the Porsche harnesses.
"The Continental head units needs permanent 12V (Terminal 30) on ISO A pin 7, and switched 12V on ISO A pin 4. These are reversed in the original Porsche car harness."
