1999 C43 Dailyish Driver
Feel like this will either go really well or I'll regret it... Need some owners to weigh in on what I should do.
I have an opportunity to purchase a W202 C43 with about 70k miles. I've been on the hunt for a C55 for a while, but have always loved the C43 as well. Just never really had one come up within my range and now I'm contemplating it. I wouldn't necessarily use it as a "Daily" but I would be driving it 3-4 times a week. It is a one owner with a fairly robust service history in the Carfax.

- Anything I should look out for? From all the research I've done over the years it seems to be a fairly bullet proof car.
- How is it getting parts for any repairs at this age?

Stuart, I have a 1999 C43 that I drive about 2 to 3 thousand miles a year, for the last 5 years. I have it annually maintained by a good local independent M-B shop here (that loves my car, BTW) . It has gone from 64000 miles to about 83000 miles in my ownership, with only minor upkeep.
Major things I have done:
Renew sunroof panel and main headliner; $1050.00
New Michelin Pilot Sport tires : $1200.00
Refinish 2 blemished wheels: $225.00
Replace 2 O2 sensors: $425.00
Upgraded Air Cleaner Housing: $400.00
New Battery: $200.00
Replace outside mirrors: $280.00
I consider most of these expenses were not absolutely necessary, but served to keep the condition at 100%
Everything on this vehicle is fully functional, as the day it was first delivered.

Appreciate the insight, definitely feels like the right thing to do the more I dig up the older threads just for reference. I have a few great German indie shops in the area which I've built a relationship with and I presume they'd love to have this in their shop for maintenance. So, no worries there.

Prices above are defined towards the higher end. You can get away with things cheaper.
You cant go wrong with a c43 or a c55.
Id say if you have a chance to buy one with 70k miles go for it. Its becoming harder and harder to find them with lower mileage.

PJmak, fan of your IG page and some of your videos. We've talked a bit on IG when you contemplated selling your C55. Any thoughts on the reliability/age between the two in '23?
