Ecu Swap With Tuned Ecu

Ecu Swap With Tuned Ecu
I had to junk one of the cars I use to own. Had to much rust and the spring cup up on top came out of place and spring shifted to the left and hit the shock.
Anyway I removed some good parts on that car. And I removed the Ecu that I had tuned some years ago.
I swaped it to my silver c43. The car turned on and right away it turned off. Tried turning it back on and nothing.
My question is this. Does the housing on the Ecu itself need to be grounded? I ask because I did not remove the stock Ecu on the silver car. I just pulled all the wires and put them on the tuned Ecu.
There are four small bolts that hold the Ecu in place. But it's a pain to remove so that's why I just unplugged the wires and put them on the tuned Ecu.
Those bolts seem to screw on to the plastic housing. But I don't know for sure if that's the case? So that's why I'm asking.
If I can get a sure answer that it has to be grounded than I will remove the oem Ecu and replace it fully correct with the tuned one.
I hope not to hear that the Ecu's cannot be swapped.

Thanks. I hope that's not the case. I have read what you said and also of one guy swapping from another w202 and car ran fine. Hopefully someone who has done this will post.

The ECU needs to be programmed for your key/EIS. There is a place in CA that can do it.

I already have the 55 swap. Do you have any videos of it with the manual and LSD? Sounds incredible!
