Improving the Gas Pedal Feel

My accelerator pedal has never been the smoothest, it's fine but I feel like improving it would go a long way to improve the driving feel. It's a little sticky and so you can't increase the amount of throttle smoothly, it goes up in increments.

This is me squeezing the pedal as smoothly as I can, I've lubricated the pin in the back of the pedal and it hasn't helped - presumably it's the mechanism of the TPS itself? How can I clean it and get it back to smooth without breaking it?

Thanks!

Could just be the throttle cable being dried out. Mine doesn't do this with 324k miles on it.
