Very cold, but clear yesterday. When I went to the mall for an errand, managed to get the 'empty mall parking lot' shot, but only with my iPhone.

I've got winter tires on the stock 17" Monoblocks, and actually the previous owner had it set up like that. I also got a set of 17" 5 spoke AMG wheels, like the ones supplied with MY2000 C43s, and CLKs too, the previous owner had summer rubber on those. In the future, the car won't driven much in the summer, as I have my S2000 for that. But I did acquire a set of 18" Monoblocks which I will mount all season rubber on them for spring/fall use, and whenever I might drive the car in the summer too.

Except for being lowered and having an Eclipse head unit, it's stock as a rock. Thinking about an Avantgarde grille, but want to make I get a quality piece. Not sure what else I'll do right now. Tinted windows, maybe. Custom trunk-mounted sub? Has anyone painted the stock calipers?

Red is nice if you have the real stuff, i.e. Brembo calipers . I recommend keeping them silver like AMG wanted them and still make them (apart from the yellows we start seeing now)

Silver would be nice, too. I saw some alleged "high heat" AMG logo caliper decals on eBay. I was thinking red calipers with black logos. Maybe silver calipers with black logos. Hmmm . . . Right now, I'd have to say my calipers are pretty dark - almost black.
As for the grille badge, it's the German Auto Club (ADAC) crest. It's like this one on eBay:

Thanks! I wish I knew what the setup is. I was told it was professionally done by the first owner (my dad bought it in '02), and I don't have a reason to doubt it. It's very solid (no funny sounds or feels), has a firm ride, but not harsh at all. The camber is a little aggressive both in the front and the rear, but it corners better than anything I've ever driven. My dad is in his 70s and he never complained about the ride. But, again, I'd sure like to know what I have under there.

No, not at all. Very controlled and stable at speed. If I can find out, I'll let you know. I see you're in Kirkland. I work just west of Bellevue BMW. That's where I am right now.
Are there any clubs, shows, or Mercedes get-togethers in the area? I'm pretty much a noob to Mercedes. I was a VW enthusiast until just a couple of years ago.

not too sure about shows/GTGs.....but i do know there are several 36s and 43s running around the area though. i also came from the VW world (although i was in it only briefly). i had a 2004 jetta GLI in platinum gray. cool car, but nowhere near as cool as the mighty 36
