After Market Warranty?
Hi, I just purchased a 1998 C43 and it has 79,900 miles on it. I was looking to buy an after market warranty. Can anyone recommend one or does anyone have any experiance dealing with warrantys.
I got a quote from one company for $1689 covering everything except advanced electrical and computers, for 25 months or 25k miles, does anyone think this is a good deal?
Please post your advice and experiences with warrantys thanks in advance.

Since my Starmark will expire this January, I just bought an aftermarket warranty from Continental (888) 244-0925 x2620. It is a 2 year or 24,000 mile warranty that covers everything except suspension components (covers: Steering; Electrical; Engine; Transmission; Differential; Fuel System; CV Joints, etc.) for $1,698.
Apparently I have 30 days to review the contract when I receive it in the mail. If I don't like it they will issue a full refund. The policy is transferable and cancelable on a pro-rated basis. But, for underwriting purposes you can't make a claim on the policy for the 1st 1,000 miles or 45 days of the warranty. They say they add a month onto your policy so you get the full 24 month coverage.
One of the guys on this forum or club202.com recommended Continental. Also, Continetal claims that most Mercedes Benz dealerships and independants accept payment from them directly without you having to go out-of-pocket first.
Hope this helps and I would be interested to hear what others have to say about this or other aftermarket warranty coverage.

Aftermarket warranty
I've had several different ones. Some were good, some not so good. You always find the fine print a few months later. I suggest you ask your Advisor, or repair shop, what their experiences are with the various companies. They can tell you about the "happy" customers and the "surprised and unhappy" customers.
