That seems like a screaming deal for CND. You guys usually have much less wiggle room on price than we do.

Ya he said he was basically selling it at cost, not sure I believe him or not but either way went from being alright with my original deal, to being pretty damn happy with the current one! Always good when dealerships decide to fight!

Hi All - Question for those of you in the US who preordered the C43. I recently (within the last month) preordered my C43 from a reputable dealer in southern California. I paid the preorder price and received an email from the dealership that listed the options I requested. It was a pretty plain looking email - nothing very official about it.

My question for you is whether you ever received a formal document showing that you preordered a specific C43 with the options you chose and the build date you received?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you both. I've attached a screenshot of my email for reference. This is my first time preordering a car, so I figured there would be something a bit more formal. I was told over the phone to expect the car late October or early November (barring any manufacturing delays). Maybe I'm overthinking it and this is the typical situation when preordering MBs...

You should have a form like inhart with a PO# and if they really have a allocation that is assigned to you and has been accepted by the system they can tell you the month and decade it is scheduled to be built. It is possible that can change because of lack of a part or other factors but yo will get a update if that happens.
Sometimes dealers take orders betting on the fact that they will get a allocation for that time frame but you really do not have a order accepted yet by MB.

I'm in the Bay Area too and got my production date when I placed my order. They modified an existing allocation so that could have been why. What dealer did you order through?

As I said above --if the dealer has an allocation to give you they can give a production date right away. If he can't do that you don't really have an order in yet. they are waiting for MB to allocate a C43 to them and they can then put your name on it and give you a date.

You have an order with the dealer but maybe he does not yet have an order with MB.

Agree with Alex. No indication of a production schedule is not a good thing.

As to naksuk's question - I got my production schedule (guess) at the time I placed the order. The dealer already had a order with MB and just changed it to the configuration I wanted.

Ended up calling the Sales Manager and got a PO today. They had to change an allocation they had so looks like my initial order was never processed.

What production dates are you guys hearing for the coupe? I was told that right now it's looking like a late October delivery for my car (I'm in the SF Bay).

Believe I posted it previously but I ordered on day 1 in US, have a 9/3 build date and I expect delivery in the Midwest around week 2 or 3 of October.

Your not listening--If they have an allocation for you they also know the date and can tell you. This is a anticipated build "decade" and they have to just estimate how long to get it to you after it is built but they can tell you the build date. Each month is broken into 3 decades and they can tell you as an example Oct -first decade.

C43 AMG Coupe
My C43 coupe build date is August 11, this week so very excited! I am hoping someone can answer the following:
- How long does it actually take for the car to be built?
- At what stage is the dealer able to obtain the VIN, at the end of the build or before?
- How long do they generally take from build finish to be on the ship in Germany?

Thank you in advance!

Also, getting last minute anxiety about the options I have chosen, including colour! Iridium silver or selenite grey (current option chosen), with brown leather! I think I need to settle and believe I have already made the right choice....

I was told by my dealer that total time (build, ship, delivery) is about 12 weeks. My sales guy mentioned something about a 6 week split, but I don't remember exactly what it was for. I just remember the 12 week total time. Btw, I'm in Alberta, Canada. It might be different for the US.

I am in Australia and understand that the shipping component takes around 7 weeks, but particularly keen to find out the build and timing of VIN.

Thanks RDOCA

Guess I won't be making any last minute changes, dealer just emailed stating they checked for the VIN and the car was built ahead of schedule, last Thursday! Great news!

Will now be checking the VIN on Marine Traffic every day to see when it's on the ship!

Thanks for the pics.
I asked my SA if I could add debadging (kind of confusing) to my order. He did not know but is checking. I will post what he tells me.
