I think burger Motorsports will be realising a tune for the c43. They are pretty well known in the bmw community with their jb4 tune.

That would be nice. I had a JB1 on my Golf R and it was great. George@BMS might be the best tuner rep out there, too.

so i emailed them and they think their current w205 400/450 tune should work on the c43.

i'll take to pop the engine cover off and see if it looks like their 400/450 engine. if it does, the tune will work. i haven't found how much power the tune would be good for.

have to take the car to the dealer first because last time i popped the hood open, the driver side latch didn't want to close. it needs to be adjusted

So far I am very satisfied with the tune. You certainly go through the initial excitement as you notice the new power and after a week or two you seem to get used to it. Keep in mind i am on factory exhaust and factory intake. I think when I eventually get an aftermarket exhaust+downpipes+intake the car will feel/sound a lot better.

Nice yeah I ordered mine with the AMG performance exhaust. with the downpipes you will get a little bit more power it's just the turbos are pretty much maxed out I think rob said you'll get like 15 more horse with the downpipes and 15 more tourque. There's a c450 with the AMR tune with downpipes that ran a 12.2 1/4 at 116mph in New Jersey. Are you planning on running yours at all. Just to see what it would do.

I don't think these turbo's are near being maxed out at all. I think companies are keeping the tunes very conservative so early in this platforms life. OE/AMR are targeting max boost at like what, 15-16psi? LOT more boost to go if you ask me. I want to be able to turn it up to 22-24psi.

And I don't think the stock exhaust is any bit of a [real] restriction. Just the cats. Personally, I'm keeping the stock non-PE in place but installing DP's next week.

Yea I agree I'll have to find out more info on why considering a CLA 45 runs 26psi and with a tune on c450/43 we're only at 15 -16 psi.

The CLA is a 2.0L with a turbo big enough to swallow a small planet. That thing helps the 4 banger make more HP per liter than any other production car (that includes Ferrari too). Our v6 very well might be turboed out with where AMR tuned them. The e43 is making more power, but uses larger turbos now. I'm curious to see if the aftermarket takes a liking to this engine and makes a stage 3+ with larger turbos, like they did with the Audi k04 swap. My guess is it won't happen since Mercedes is already planning the replacement straight 6 TT. Time will tell.

That's exactly what I'm basing my opinion on. I've had extensive seat time in B5 S4's with every turbo from stock k03's to k04's to RS6's, and even a 3.0l GT28r car.

They push the k04's to 22-25psi on pump gas (albiet many with meth) and I'm thinking the k04's are slightly smaller than our stock turbo's. Our stock snails should be able to efficiently produce 20-22 psi all day long. Tuners are just afraid to push new engines to hard too fast as they don't want to be the ones to find the breaking point of components and have someone try to sue them for it. I don't blame them to be honest. But we should be able to achieve 400whp with these engines on stock turbo's no problem.

Just basing this on spool characteristics though, nothing else as I haven't seen any specs on them let alone seen the actual turbos.

I do want to find a way to log IAT's this summer and see how the stock W/A intercooling system holds up in the heat. I've asked many companies if upgrades in that department are anywhere in their pipeline and have gotten a consistent no from everyone

It's like by the time this platform is really opened up and becomes a respected car in the tuning world, my lease will be up and I'll be on to something else lol. I don't know if that's a form of Murphy's law, a catch 22 or what, but I do know it's depressing to think about.
