I think we are living in a time where you build them as fast as you can make them, and if someone returns it, you give them another one. Sad.
At the risk of sounding like a xenophobe, I'm going out on a limb and saying fine European craftsmen have been replaced by untrained immigrant labor when the younger generation of Europeans decided they were too entitled to have to build things. Maybe I'm off base here, but I am officially old enough to remember the way things used to be. I remember luxury items being luxurious to the touch.
yup, I couldn't agree with you more. There was a pair of LV sneakers i bought and it had glue overspill on the side. When I pointed it out they just gave me another pair. You're not off base at all.

BMW328ix, AMG C43
Following this thread got me thinking: my family previous cars (mazda3 x 2, focus, jetta, C300 - all new > 2009) or friends cars, all had crickets here and there in winter time. My wife's 2016 Q50 and my 2014 328xi - nothing whatsoever. Been in my 328 for 2 full winters now and absolutely nothing!

Waiting on my C43 to come, I really hope I won't have to go back to trying to ignore annoying dashboard noises.

Yes, let's paint clothing retailers and car manufacturers with the same brush, that's makes a lot of sense

2017 C43 Coupe
My C43 Coupe is 3 weeks old, 1100 miles, so far the most solid and rattle free car I've ever owned (maybe it's too early?).... actually my Boxster is pretty good too (but with the engine right behind your head, you don't hear much else).... I've always had a squeak or rattle in every past BMW or Japanese car.

2017 C43 Sedan
It's not where it's built.
I have owned early production W205 C300 - built in March 2015 in U.S. Alabama.
Rattles all over the doors/windows.

Now I own a C43 built by the same place - US Alabama.
No rattles on doors/windows.
But it's got rattles on dashboard, seat belt holders, sunglasses compartment...

It really is the tolerance of the design. And you are lucky if you get one that's with no rattles.

Also TEMPERATURE MATTERS!!!!! I am in New York State. It's winter now, and it rattles like hell. I think it will not make rattles during summer time. At least that's what happened to my gone C300.
