Color for C43 Sedan

Hi guys, I am from Germany, so sorry for my English. 2 weeks ago I ordered a C43 sedan in Selenite with night package. I haven't seen this color on a C43 sedan before live. Only on a c63 . But I am not sure with my choise. Yesterday I went to my dealer. There where alot of W213 in Selenite. Sometimes it looks good, sometimes (in direct sun) not so good.

Today I found this picture in the Internet... On this it does Not look good. Or is the picture bad?

I really don't know... If I take black there is low risk that the car doesn't look good. But black is also a bit boring I think.

So I am really confused :-(

So black in my opinion gets dirty too easily. I've had white for my past 4 cars so I wanted something different and also something that does not stand out as much so I got the selenite grey. It was exactly what I wanted. It looks good in person to me but yes the accents on the trims do not stand out as much due to the color but it still looks good.

The picture you have in the first pic is just a bad shot. Also the color will grow on you as day goes by. Its definitely a much more "mature" color than say the white in my opinion.

I haven't really seen a color that I don't like on this car. Tint the windows and it will really pop.

I find the grey hit and miss depending on the level of lighting. If you look at selenite grey, mountain grey, or bmw's mineral grey, they are all beautiful colors that could look boring in some lighting conditions. I find that when it's neither sunny nor dark, none of these greys 'pop'. Usually around twilight time or when its overcast - these colors look kinda blah. That being said, when it is sunny out or dark out, the greys look absolutely stellar...it looks like the car is wearing an expensive and tasteful suit. Plus...grey ages exceptionally well. Even the best maintained white or black paint will show yellowing / fading or swirls a lot sooner than grey paint. Just my 2 cents though.

Note: This is quite literally the video that made me fall in love with grey paint on cars...

Selenite seems to have a lot of brown in it. Good or bad depending on how you feel about that, but it doesn't have the same nice clean look as Audi Daytona Gray.

I wound up going with black. It is going to take more maintenance, but it's a classic Benz color and looks great on the W205 sedan.

Thanks guys for your help. Well there are only three colors for me I would take. Black, Selenite or white. I don't like silver, and I don't like blue. Black is classic and you can not make mistakes with it. But now I have black and I am sick of it. You clean the car and after half an hour you have the first dust layer on it. The other problem is, that you can not see the details of the AMG Line and the night package. So there is only Selenite and white. The problem with Selenite ist, that I don't know how it looks on the C43 in true live. As you said: it depends on the lighting

I am still confused

Just went to the dealership to test drive today. Black is definitely pretty in the showroom, but as you already mentioned, it is a pain in the *** to maintain. Personally, I'd go with either black or white and skip the selenite.

Here is a pic of selenite grey I took at the dealership. I think it looks pretty boss. One other thing to note is that there is a big visible difference between Mercedes metallic paint vs flat paint vs matte paint. You need to see them in person to appreciate the beauty of each.

Transparently, I have a grey CLA and kind of regret not getting white. That being said, I have a grey C43 and am happy I didn't get polar white. Eye of the beholder kinda thing...

I second that.

brilliant blue - yes
selenite - yes
diamond white - yes
Ob Black - yes

it all depends on what you want/like, but for the colors, I think most of them out there are pretty nice on the w205.

Hey guys. Today I went to the dealer again (like the other days )... It was cloudy today.
On the pictures outside I loved it. On the pictures inside under the light it looks different. That's the reason why I am so unsure.

buddy, I never like to decide on colors when the car is inside under the lights. the car is mostly outside under the sun, clouds, street lights, so I usually like to decide when the car is in its usual environment .

Yes. But don't you think it looks outside in the sun like the picture inside under the lights.

Get the selenite, wrap some trim elements in vinyl (red, black... whatever) to get some contrast and some accents on the car, and you should be just fine. Black and white are too boring in my opinion.

Check the forum, I just saw some briliant blue pics.

Had to make this decision about 2 months ago, went with selenite.

Have you seen the red in the sun?! It looks exceptional!!!! I just don't like how it looks in the shade - too dark. Had a hard choice to make between getting the car in brilliant blue and don't do anything to it, or getting it selenite grey and put some accents on it. I went with the latter.

Initially ordered our C43 sedan in selenite gray, but after seeing the color on cars in different outdoor lighting conditions (bright sun to overcast) we went with polar white and the night package. Then tinted the windows.

Not debadged, but will have 5 spoke AMG.

It's also my wife's car (moving from a Lexus GS350 F-Sport). She's good to me, usually lets me borrow it when it's dirty and needs gas.

HBD!

When our order status went "red" I had sent my SA four changes over three months. The first was to change from selenite gray to polar white.
Not sure how I felt about not being able to make more changes, but I am certain our SA wa very happy.

Same here, but I am required to wash it at home.

When the car is so far a long, you cannot make changes anymore.

That's good and bad. Good: you'll get it soon. Bad: you may be dead set on changing a fundamental aspect and cannot.

It's a nice color, no doubt.

My favorite color for this car are black, white, and cardinal.

Can't go wrong with polar or black. Car looks very sharp in both.

Well I hope I can see the color in the sun these days. Maybe someone has a picture.
I just came from the dealer again to see how the color is at night. Palladium and Selenite were nice both. Palladium a bit brither.
But what I can say: on pictures the color looks different. Check the attached picture. It looks brither than in reality.
