@topic - You can still initiate "launch control" by simply brake torquing it. It's essentially the same steps involved, minus using the paddle shifters. Although, I wouldnt recommend doing it often... Maybe once in a blue moon (for those that care about the longevity of their car).

There must be a reason it is not offered with the AWD system... maybe the tires need to be able to slip a bit to dissipate all that initial torque, which would be difficult driving all 4 wheels.

Yup. The manual is a little misleading. At first I thought I had race start - but I don't.

In Sport+ idle is raised, and so simply tromping it will work as the torque kicks in so fast. I have tried not to do it too much as I am not past break-in yet.

may not be the launch most are looking for however I find if you activate the "HOLD" brake feature by depressing hard on the brake at a stop and taking your foot off the brake, then when the light turns green go hard on the accelerator you get a more aggressive launch from stand still.
