This might be one of the biggest differences between the C450 and C43, as us poor C450 drivers aren't eligible. Have a great time for those that get to go!

Originally I was going to do Atlanta because I wanted to drive there rather than fly. I went back and forth for a while but after watching some videos of the final laps on their website, I felt like COTA would be more fun. COTA has more turns and more unique aspects that I think I personally would get more enjoyment out of. I like F1 also, so that helped. I'm sure Atlanta is just as fun and challenging but I didn't really have anyone to ask that has done it before, so I just went by videos and reading about the courses.

Yeah I hear you about the road trip. I was thinking if I went to Atlanta I would go up to the Tail of the Dragon after. Lime Rock would be cool.

I've done COTA and Road ATL. Road ATL is not forgiving at all!!! COTA was an awesome track, both were fun but road ATL is rugged and well you could call it a widow maker, ha!

I am going to be booking COTA in December tonight. Going to bring the lady along and make a long weekend out of it (she will obviously be on her own while I am at the AMG Academy).

My wife was the one who originally signed up for COTA. I was going to be her +1. But I couldn't pass up the opportunity, so I bought my way in! She has plenty of track experience, at local tracks, so she is extremely excited about this.

?? I have a C450 and I was emailed by my dealer telling me I am eligible to go. I signed up and got confirmation and everything.

"All new Mercedes-AMG vehicles purchased in the U.S. qualify for the Purchase Reward Program. The Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sedan and GLE450 AMG Coupe are excluded."
However, that link above (which I previously ran across) doesn't seem to be accessible from the main page anymore, so I wonder if that was a change. For me though, I'm running out of time for more 1 year to attend, wonder if they'll grant extension, I may try to reach out to them.

On second thought I might do the one in California in late Sept/early Oct and stay in the Monterrey Peninsula for the weekend and squeeze in a round of golf at Pebble Beach while I'm there.

My gf told me she "Thinks it is stupid as hell to go", but then I explained she just doesn't understand the appeal of it.

I'm signed up for an early October basic course there and am planning to turn it into a long weekend in Monterrey/Carmel with the family.

Wow...that must be a change. I got no notification and right here https://amgacademy.com/program/offer it says:

"I’m sorry! The C450 is not eligible for the AMG Purchase Rewards. There has been some confusion with dealers since the 43 models were added, however the C450 and the GLE450 did not get the credit."
@Standingoten if you have any other information you can share, would love to have it to see if I can make this happen. Otherwise, I'll stick with my jealousy and wish everyone much fun!

Driving Laguna Seca is a bucket list item for me--one of the most iconic tracks in the world. Tell her it's like getting to play tennis on the Wimbledon courts, or play a round of golf at St Andrews.
I'm signed up for an early October basic course there and am planning to turn it into a long weekend in Monterrey/Carmel with the family.

Pebble Beach has been a bucket list item for me since I was about 12, so that would make for a hell of a weekend. Never thought I'd be crossing these types of things off at age 31, but I love it

I took the Laguna Seca Basic course this past April and made a write-up on it.
Long story, short, it was a fantastic experience. Was worried the basic course would be too basic and focused more on road safety but was blown away by the coaching and experience.
Hope your October session is just as fun.

1) only AMG's purchased from US Dealers get credit for the US Academy. so no. (That being said, I'm a Canadian waiting on a May delivery of a C43 Wagon, so not sure if we get anything towards the Canadian offerings)
2) Only the 45, 63, 65 and GT's get a free seat at the course; the 43 and 53's only get you 1/2 off the course ( via a $895 credit)

I received an email this morning from the AMG Academy Concierge stating "no". And for the price of the performance course, i'd be better off taking a real driving course instead. Oh well.
In the previous years, the 43's got full credit rather than half; not that it matters!!!
