AMG Performance Exhaust VS AWE Tuning Touring Exhaust
I really fell in love with the Performance Exhaust. It sounds perfect. I can't really judge the AWE Tuning from a simple youtube clip. I was wondering if anyone heard the two in real life? Are there any similarities, less/more crackles and pops? Drone?
Thank you!
However this AMG Performance Exhaust on my C43 has me quite content. It sounds great. Don't think I foresee needing to upgrade to the Touring (unless someone wants to go to the Track version, maybe?)
Given that OP doesn't have either may just work out better (price wise) to go straight to the AWE though.

Personally, I would go aftermarket. If I was hell bent on getting the PE, I would set up appointment with the Service Manager and I would fwd him the correspondence from AMG for him to review beforehand. From there, it just becomes a conversation about availability and cost.

Switchable option is nice, but AWE makes a fantastic product for the price point. I went with the Track which I wouldn't recommend for anyone who does daily highway driving. I love it because it is as obnoxious as I am. From all reports, their Touring system sounds better than the AMGPerformance option anyway.
If you are hell bent on a switchable system there are Armytrix, GTHaus, Brabus, and Capristo. They are all expensive (and sorted by price). With that said, you can probably could t on at least 3 of them being cheaper than making the OEM AMG pipes work.
If you can find a salvage car being parted out, and you have a shop well versed in taking apart the console on a perfectly good new car, you might be able to make it happen. Or you might do all the work only to find your car's ECU wasn't programmed to be able to make the switch control it.
