Hey guys, I just bought the revotech carbon fiber steering wheel for my 2016 c450 AMG and I'm having a hard time finding a place locally to remove the old steering wheel and install the new one. Debating upon doing it myself but the airbag scares me a bit and was wondering if anyone had step by step instructions or advice on where to have it removed and the new one reinstalled. Also, was wondering if it would void any warranties considering I leased a vehicle? I plan to put the old one back on before turning the car in in three years.
It's easy to remove airbag. Disconnect battery. Then look to either side of steering wheel by the paddle shifters- you will see two hidden holes beneath a plastic covering. Push a screw driver into each hole and the airbag will release. Once released remove the airbag and disconnect the various clips and set aside facing upwards. From there you can see the but that holds the steering wheel on. You will most likely need a large breaker bar to remove the nut. Wheel looks great btw.

do you have to do that to just remove/replace the airbag cover?
