what kind of discount did you get?

Do these finance rates only apply if you're coming off an existing MBFS loan/lease? If not, does anyone know the standard tier 1 finance rates offered by MBFS? Thanks!

Discount Received - Ottawa
Pulled the trigger yesterday on the C43 AMG from Star Motors here in Ottawa (Ontario, Canada).
- Brilliant Blue
- Premium Package
- LED Lights (didn't want it, but that was the way the only Brilliant Blue anywhere nearby came built).
Got a discount of $3675. Could have probably pushed for a bit more ($100-$150 perhaps), but they had made it so easy and pleasant, let it go.
They absolutely declined $4000, due to it being a dealer trade, and the car needing to be shipped here to Ottawa. If I'd been willing to choose one of theirs in stock, they indicated they would give that (but they were optioned and in colours I didn't want). They definitely are motivated to move product they have in their own inventory, and I think they may have even gone beyond $4K if I'd wanted a car in their inventory - not 100% sure, just a sense.
Sales/Finance people were easy to deal with. I let them know what I wanted in terms of discount ($4k) and sales person went to the manager, who came out in person (so none of that Ping-Pong as the sales person goes to 'check' with their invisible manager), and got the deal done pretty easily. A bit of typical back and forth, but they were good to deal with, pleasant and professional. Having bought some 7 cars over the years, one of the better experiences and would recommend.
Finance person also decent - walked me through the lease and tire protection packages and tinting, but in a completely no-pressure way - good description (I'd already read up about them) and then no muss or fuss at all when I declined them. Overall, a very pleasant process too (but have to say I've never had a bad experience with finance people in eons - they've all been good, across various brands).
Some random, interesting tid-bits I learned along the way:
- Realized that the Prepaid maintenance is a bit cheaper to buy up front in a lump sum, rather than folding into the lease (where it's subject to interest charges).
- C-Class cars are widely available generally, and in a highly competitive market, so there's more willingness to negotiate on them. Their prime competitor right now is perceived to be BMW, not Audi (which kind of surprised me). They really don't pay attention to them in Canada right now.
- The current promotion - 3 monthly payments - is split 3 ways (as are almost all promotions). The dealer has to pay for one payment, MB Canada the second and MB financial the third. Also worth knowing is that the dealers very much keep this in mind when negotiating - they've already given up that first payment in terms of discount, so there's actually a little bit less actual room for discounting.
- B Class cars are really tough for them - they are very expensive for what they provide, and hard to sell. MB keeps allocating more to them, and many dealers still have 2016 B class cars sitting around. Most get sold at a loss, just to get them off the lot. So, if you're in the market for one, there may be some serious discounts to be had.....
- Conversely, the larger SUVs are really hard to find - allocation is very sparing, and people frequently have to factory order, waiting months. There is no discounting at all - they get sold at list every time. Dealers love that, and wish they could get more.
- Not surprisingly, the best time to get discounts is the month immediately following a soft sales month - dealers and MB will roll out additional incentives to bring the numbers back up.
- If you buy near end of month, and take delivery in the following month, you get the benefit of choosing the better of the two months' promotions when it comes time to pay.
If anyone has any questions, happy to answer - can't wait to get it next week!
Cheers,

There is a lot of useful info in this thread, but there are many posts where the contributor's location is not shown. It would be immensely helpful, and appreciated, if people would show at least their country, and preferably province/state and or city in their profile details.

I'm impressed and encouraged at the size of discounts many folks have been able to negotiate. As a side note, it is interesting that these cars appear well priced when compared to some earlier AMG models. I owned a 2001 CLK55 AMG which sold new in the $65k range (in 2001 dollars!). It had 342 hp, and 0-60 in slightly under 5 seconds, and had a raunchy exhaust note from that lovely V8, but had none of the electronics and decent sound system found in today's C43, and had higher fuel consumption.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I had a nearly identical spec except for different wheels and black ash wood trim. Bought mine off the lot though, no custom order. You should be able to get anywhere from 5-10% off that number.

forgot to include that this is a used c43 with about 5000 miles on it. have not seen it in person yet. the $59K USD asking price seems high, imo

BMW 435i 2015, on order 2018 c43 or 63
Agree. Look it up in blue book or Edmunds. For that price order new and sleep better.

I custom ordered a C43 Cabriolet. The MSRP was a tick over $70K and my discount was 4.9%. If I bought one if the lot I could have done a little better, but talking to a friend who works at the dealer, these cars are selling very well. I put a downpayment of $40K and financed the balance. The dealer got a rate of 2.80%. Which was slight better than MB rate of 2.99%. Credit score comes into play on the rate though.

Wow, such a deal! I'm about to order a 2018 C43 sedan. Currently there isn't a 2018 sedan DOG with prices so I priced a 2017 with options as similar as possible on Edmunds. The MSRP came to 67,660 and the Edmunds TMV was 64,796 (~4% discount). The past two cars I bought (Audis) ended up right at the TMV number but I'll try to push the discount higher based on what I'm reading here. The final numbers will be a little different since MB seems to breaking up the packages into a more a la carte list for 2018 and there will be some change for inflation and Euro exchange rate.
