What did you do with/to your C450/C43 today?

Hi folks. Hope you're enjoying your car as much as I am. It would be more organized if we leave the Official C43 Pic thread just for car pics and use this thread to discuss what you've done to your car.

Last Friday, I got my C43 tuned at Eurocharged here in Houston. It took about 1.5 hrs for the programming and 30 mins for the ECU re-install and road test. The car is much more responsive in all driving modes and pulls hard throughout the entire RPM range. I drove with a friend of mine who has a C63s to C&C last Saturday and I could keep a close distance to his car during his WOT sprints on the freeway. Overall, I'm very pleased with the tune. The people at Eurocharged were nice and professional.

How close was if a distance was it? One or two car lengths? The C63s pulls hard at highway speeds. Glad you enjoying the car even more.

I'll try and make a video this weekend.

I was following behind him about 2 car lengths. Previously, when he stepped on it, I would try and catch up and he would be 6-7 cars ahead of me. With the tune, I stayed 3-4 cars behind him. Obviously, that's not a real test but I did notice that my car was definitely faster.

Did you guys try a 0-60 run? This might be a much closer race if not even.

Even stock, the 43 is pretty much identical to 60mph with a 63 (non s) with good traction. With a bad driver in less than ideal conditions or on cold tires, you'll be the same with a 63s. After 60 is where the v8 really starts to breathe and the v6 starts to look for an oxygen mask.

I want so bad to find a 63s (or an F80 M car) and run from a dig. I think I'll only slightly edge it out in higher speed pulls, but I'm pretty sure I'll spank the **** out of it from a dig!

What did I do with my C43 today? Hmmm.. lets see. I just sat here and opened the arlo app on my phone and stared at my C43 which is parked in my garage at my home for 10 mins just like I've been doing every other day for the past 4 weeks. Travel sucks. Can't wait to get back home and take her out for a spin. I even see her in my dreams. Boy my life sucks.

My super scientifically accurate wrist watch is telling me (consistantly) 4.34-4.4sec 0-60 times. Nice

Mine is currently stage 1 and daily driven. It is a pleasure to drive and considerably quicker than stock. I am now considering ordering downpipes and shipping the ECU back to AMR for the stage 2 upgrade.

Fellow Houstonion as well, how was it at Eurocharged?

0-60 time seems off. It's just a video and hard to judge accurately, but seems like a ~5 second run to 60 (at best)

If you download the video and go frame by frame, the speedometer needle starts to move at around frame 40 and the digital readout changes to "61 mph" at frame 170.

The frame rate of the video is 30.00 frames per second, meaning each frame is 33.3 milliseconds in duration.

Assuming the speedometer is reasonably accurate, that would put the acceleration at (33.3 * (170 - 40)) or 4330 milliseconds or 4.33 secs. The screen is really jumpy at the beginning, so it's a bit hard to tell exactly when the car starts moving, but it's definitely a low 4 sec 0-60 car. It hits 100 mph at almost exactly frame 340, or 9.9 secs after takeoff.

Thanks GordonGEICO. Your analysis was good to know.

It was hard to keep my cell phone steady at launch. If you notice in the video, my car reached 110mph in ~12 seconds. Just for comparison, look at the video of 'MariusWeber YT' where he does 1/4 mile runs at the drag strip with his stock sedan. The time slip he posted (which I assume is the fastest run) shows a time of 13.034 secs at 104.65mph. Keep in mind my car is a coupe which is 200lbs. heavier than a sedan. I only did one run because traffic was getting busier.

thanks for breaking that down!

hmm. well that would be a fairly stock 0-60 time (EVO rated factory at 4.2 0-60). Source: http://www.evo.co.uk/audi/s4/19065/a...-sports-saloon

But the 0-100 is better.

Altitude, etc. also plays a large role, obviously.

Oh, it's a coupe too. This is making more sense.

I'm sure the magazines are brake boosting much higher as well to produce those numbers. Looks like l3m launched at 1.5k rpm which is low as I'm sure he likes his transmission as is and would rather not have first gear laying in the street.

Most magazines also use a 1-foot roll-out which usually knocks a couple tenths off the 0-60.

Well if something catastrophic were to happen on a brake-boost launch, this wouldn't be the scenario. Likely just the torque converter would fail. But nothing would be lying on the street (I'm sure you're saying that as a 'figure of speech' regardless)

Car automatically limits itself to ~2k when brake boosting. That what it looks like he did.

I got mine a couple of days ago and besides driving, I've been wiping all the pollen off of it. It's maddening!

What did I do with my C450 today? I dropped it off at the dealership to have the rear portion of my AMG side sill on the driver's side re-attached, and they gave me a 2017 E300 as a loaner. When I went back later today to pickup my car, I saw this 2017 Aston Martin Vulcan on the showroom floor...
