I'd have to agree. I wouldn't want an "alcantara" steering wheel for a daily. A car I drive a couple thousands miles a year on the weekends, sure.

I drive 20k a year. I don't need the extra care/maintenance of an alcantara wheel and often find myself in less than ideal circumstances being on the road.
I didn't want the dinamica insert since I had alcantara inserts on a recent car and was looking for a change of pace. MB Tex is probably one of the best leatherettes out there and it wears like iron. If you're good with the suede insert the only real downside is that there can be a slight plastic odor when the interior gets hot.

Although, very good for the track, on daily drives getting in and out, if i were wearing shorts it makes it bunch up on my crotch, hahaha! And it untucks my shirt from the back...! I knew i wanted the performance seats and when i saw the designo saddle brown... well...

I debated between the whole MB Tex/Leather/Std Sport/AMG seats for so long before I placed my order!
Basically I was like well you either go all the way and get leather+AMG or just stick with the standard sport seats+AMG Tex.
I did want leather seats because I have two huskies who would be in the back seats from time to time and they shed like crazy (and the fur/hair wont latch onto leather as much, I thought).
Eventually went for the standard seats+MB Tex as it saved me some CAD5000 on the car. They are quite nice and no one can really tell that it is not leather. The alcantara parts are quite easy to clean too. No scratch, no stains, still as good as new.
The only thing is - every time I see some of those nice leather bucket seats photos u guys posted I am like "damn...that's nice". But I guess I have the same response every time I see a C43 coupe too (got the sedan coz the dogs want to stick their heads out).

I didn't like it because there was always brown marks on the driver seat cushion..every couple days I had to clean it and it was getting annoying.. so on my 2017 I decided to go with leather.. apparently the leather isn't much better... the cushion is still getting the brown marks too..

Have leather (not designo) and like it. Had the MB-Tex and liked it too. I know the leather looks better on the C43, because my wife told me so and that is what we ordered.

Go for leather all the way! MB Tex is stiff and smells like chemicals. Be gentle to your lower back and get the leather . We aren't getting younger. Nobody should have to sit in that stiff faux leather bullsh*t seats. TBH- Mercedes should get rid of MB Tex altogether.

How well do the ventilated seats work? I am now rethinking the AMG Performance seats and just going with the standard sport ones so I can get the ventilated.
Also, just for argument sake, black leather with red top stitching and red seat belts or cranberry red seats with black seatbelts?
I like the ventilated seats, but I can see how it might be a personal preference. I don't really need air whooshing through my pants, I just like how it cools the seat in summer. If you live in a hot climate (and especially if you have a dark interior, I think it's nice.
I've used the ones on Audi and I think the airflow might be more noticeable.
Struggling to decide. Both have red top stitching and both available with the performance seats. I've had leather in my past 3 cars, the Dinamica seems kinda neat, and it'll match the Nappa/Dinamica steering wheel. I'll also save $1620.
Thoughts on it?
hello all, Newbie here. I am in Canada and just ordered a 2018 c43. I noticed you say the performance seat is available in both full leather AND dinamica. I was told I can only have the performance seat with black leather - no other way, i.e. not even two tone so just want to know if definitely you can get other options on the performance seats. maybe it is a canadian thing ....

May very well be a canadian thing, options differ marginally between US and Canada.
Canada usually has options more in line with european options.
IMO, it's a waste to spend $55K+ on a vehicle that doesn't even have a leather interior.
Besides, nothing beats the smell of leather, and you can't get ventilated seats with the MB-Tex/DINAMICA.
um...... do you even know what alcantara/dinamica is...? And also the leather is a joke in the C class. Unless you get the leather package it’s crap. Stiff as hell. Kill yourself PLEASEEEEE. And the smell of leather...? Get the hell outta here
