i will probably stick with oem rotors as they seem to be different left and right, my guess would be most aftermarket companies will make the same rotor for both sides which will not be optimal for cooling. I do not know if this is fact this would just be my guess based on pas experiences with aftermarket rotors.

OEM pad love the performance but hate the dust.

I will try porterfield r4s next. If those work great then will stick with them. I had them on my w202 and loved them.

Good news from EBC
.
Thank you for the email & interest in EBC Brakes products, I’ll gladly assist you.

Currently at this time the UK is in development of the pads, there is no current ETA on when they will be released by them.

Kind regards

I think it's the other way around. The oem rotors are the ones that are the same. If you're able to find a reputable company that makes performance rotors, they're the ones that make "true" directional drilled vanes rotors for the driver and passenger side, for optimal cooling. Porterfield, ebc make them, i'm just not sure if they have one for the c450/43 yet.

The rear rotors can go just as easily as the fronts, depending on the driving habits. I had to replace my rear pads sooner than the fronts on my previous w204. It's because of that stupid traction control. If you like hitting the gas hard when its your turn to make a left or right from a stop, that traction control is on the job. Putting the traction control on sport or off would help. But, i wouldn't want to take that risk of spinning or hitting a curb on a daily basis... hahaha! so, i only put the tc on sport when I'm feeling kinda "racy"...

when you look up front rotor part numbers they are different part #s. My guess is they are directional.

On the w202 c43 amg and w210 they were directional from factory and all aftermarkets were universal for both sides. Plus for $120 a pop that is a pretty hard price to top for an oem rotor.

So you are right, OEM is the same then? I apologize for my complete lack of knowledge about this.

Hahaha! No apologies needed... i never realized this myself until i read about it on a different mb model thread. Someone was able to get a two piece true directional rotor for a c207, and it was a porterfield... i think. But I wasn't sure either if it applied to the c450/43... if I wasn't in a lease i'd like to get one too!

Ill have to look at mine after work. Ill check again on parts search but i could have sworn there was a separate part number for left and right. either way the drills are definitely the same on both rotors as one set of holes goes toward and one away from the caliper. If porter field makes rotors too ill just have to get the rotors and thier r4s pads

on a second note, the brakes on this car are amazing. had it on the track the other day and no fade at all. all season tires on though so we will see how they do when the summer performance tires can put up a little more of a fight with the pavement. Getting small vibrations now in the pedal. Must have got them pretty hot lol

How much difference does the direction of the holes make?
