Just special ordered 2018 C43
Hey everyone! First post here
I just ordered a C43 today 7/20
Dealership told me I couldn't order a 2017, so I went ahead and ordered a 2018 Sedan.
I got the following on my build:
Black Paint
Black Seats with Red stitching
555 AMG Performance Seats
319 Advanced Lighting Package
U25: AMG illuminated Door Sills
608: Adaptive High Beam Assist
640: Active LED Headlamps
877: Ambient Lighting
320 Multimedia Package
U71: DVD coding
448: Touchpad
502: Navigation Map Updates
531: Comand with navi and voice control
815: Comand DVD player
512 Night Package
996 Parking assist Package
P44: Parking Package
235 Parktronic with active parking assist
501: Surround View system
234 Blind Spot Assist
463 Head up Display
606 19-inch AMG Multispoke wheels with black accent
737 Natural Grain Black ash center console
736 Brushed Aluminum Door trim
810 Burmester surround sound
873 Heated front seats
P21 Air Balance cabin Fragrance system
U78 AMG Performance Exhaust
U93 Carbon Fiber Rear spoiler
I am in California, and I think I pretty much got almost all the options besides the carbon package and the cruise control.
For the 2018s they don't have premium packages anymore and everything is able to pick to your own liking.
Haven't talked about discounts yet until the car arrives, but the total for this build comes out to be 67k
Estimated time is in January

Didn't you sign a deal already to finalize the order? My understanding is - that's the amount you're binding yourself to subject to different interest rates and current promotions?

I just signed a order and deposit slip, that's it, I asked about discounts and they said discounts will be taken care of when my car arrives and I'm ready to get it

When I placed my order for a 2018 one they asked me for a $1000 deposit so I gave them my card info, and the rep told me 5 mins after that they actually don't need to charge me for the $1000 deposit. Is that normal practice?!

Deposit is completely refundable so you can back out at any time.
Sedan sales are very soft right now. Press hard for at least a 10% discount and don't settle for less than 8%. If they refuse, walk away from the deal.
I got 8% off my C450 special order when it was the hot new thing.
I was only able to get 4% off my GLC43 special order due to the fact the crossover/suv sales are hot and there was no inventory to be found.
If you wait till the car arrives they will soak you for full MSRP while you are drooling over your shiny new C43. Negotiate up front before the sight of the new ride turns your brain to mush.
If you have a trade, run the appraisal now. If you don't like what they offer list it on Craiglist a few weeks before your car arrives. If it sells early you can always get a rental. I saved $3400 on my trade by doing this. Only had to spend about 8-10 hours dealing with people and detailing the car.

They are jerking you around. I have special ordered two MBs in the last 2 years. A discount percentage reduction from MSRP was agreed upon before the order was submitted both times. On the second order I did not even put down deposit.

Is there a 2018 Dealer ordering guide, or w.e. they're called. I'd like to see what changes were made to '18 model. Is there a separate thread for this topic?
Thanks.
Thanks.

So, curious if anyone has any info on when C43 Sedans (built in Alabama) will be released for 2018?
We ordered ours in March of this year - and are still waiting. We were originally told we'd have the car in late July... but that was clearly a guess (which we understood).
Now we can't get any information for our dealer - they tell us that MB won't even tell them when the cars will be released (other than "August").... The dealer thinks our car is built and ready to go but waiting for US Gov approval?
Can anyone share any light on this?

My 2018 order is slated for end of September/first week of October. I just checked today and the 2018's are also on the Mercedes website.
They've done away with the premium package levels, and a moonroof is standard (panorama optional).
Other than that, there are a few minor trim changes, such as the door panels are aluminum with the matte finished wood, and android auto/apple car play is now an option as long as you don't add the multimedia package.

They may be running specials tied to delivery date for interest or lease charges, but you should nail down the discount from MSRP at the time of order. That is not going to change. I would go back and make sure that discount is agreed to now. If you wait for delivery you have very little leverage other than walking away from the deal and starting again somewhere else. Establishing a discount from MSRP or a price fur the car shoud not require waiting fir delivery.
