Performance Seats Uncomforable?
Hey guys,
Still analyzing all my options. I am not inclined to consider the Performance Seats, primarily because while this may be a performance car, it doesn't warrant traditional sports seats for cars built for Saturdays and tracks (opinion). Daily driver performance is where I think this car resides.
At any rate, my main thing here is the comfort. The normal seats look and feel very comfortable, plenty stylish, and have ample support (bolsters, etc.).
Opinions from those with either?
P.S. apologies for subject line typo.

I have the regular seats with the upgraded leather. For the cabriolet, they worked out the best because they come with the air scarf, with the adjustable headrest being a bonus in all of the regular seats.
I heard that the performance seats were uncomfortable but I got a chance to sit in another C43 with them and they're so awesome. If you don't mind not having an adjustable headrest, the performance seats hug you so much and they're pretty comfortable. The car that I sat in does a decent 150km+ per day of driving and owner had no complaints.

Back a year or so when I was shopping for a C450, I was able to test drive one that had the performance seats. Definitely firmer than the regular leather seats.
Since my C450 is a daily driver, I'm glad I opted for the regular leather seats and not the performance seats.

Ive got the performance seats on mine and also use it as a daily driver. Ive never felt it to be uncomfortable. It has enough adjustments including bucket controls for both back and bottom. I certainly didnt notice any discomfort over a 6hr road trip interstate.

Had the Recaro AMG seats in my previous GLA45AMG, I liked them but my wife hated them. In my new 2019 C43 I got the regular seats and personally I don't miss the Recaros. My wife said we're getting the standard seats. She likes them and I find these really comfy and I have several thousand extra dollars in my pocket. You need to drive a demo (for more than around the block) for a day or so and check the difference and then buy what you like. My dealer gave me the car for several days.

Performance seats are only for looks. They aren't even the same seats as in the GTR. They suck, the side bolsters are too tight even on the lowest setting -- my chest is not super wide either.
Save yourself the trouble and get regular seats and reinstall real recaros if you are feeling racecar. Trust me.

I disagree. The performance seats worked well in the '43s I drove at the AMG Driving Academy at Laguna Seca. They held me firm and prevented side to side sliding even during aggressive cornering on the track. Would I want them for daily driving? Definitely not. They are very firm and snug, good for a track day but not good for a 4 hour drive.

I had the standard seats in my previous C-class. No doubt they are more comfortable, but for my part it didn't have enough support for spirited driving (I'm not talking about driving on track). The performance seats are much firmer, but with correct adjustments I can drive for hours without problems. I came directly from my previous car to this and drove about 320 miles with no complaints. It woldn't hurt if they were a little softer, but I would definitely buy them again.

I went with the leather standard seats. I am still getting my positioning right, but they are pretty comfortable. I need to take the time to sit in the car and figure out my 1 or 2 settings versus adjusting as I drive and rotating the seat memory settings across the 3 buttons so I am not starting from scratch each day.
I went with these because I had an S4 with performance seats similar to this- it destroyed my back on rides longer than 45 minutes. I was 27 in the S4 and I am not getting any younger! Plus, all of the reviews that mentioned daily driving said to go with the regular seats to save you back and money!

I haven't sat in a car with the Performance seats but I ordered them anyways, I think they look so damn cool and a bit out of place in a sedan.
I'm not concerned about the comfort as I'm in and out of exotic cars everyday and if the sport seats in a Ferrari don't bother me I'm not worried about my Mercedes, lol.

You can now order the Performance seats with heat AND ventilation - it's a new option for 2019 and that's exactly what I did. I've had ventilated seats in my two previous Mercedes and I can't imagine not having them anymore.

Yes, exactly! And for me, that includes AIRSCARF on the performance seats as well. If these things weren't included I would have for sure gone with the standard seats...

I think that they make the car. They have great
support and a lot of adjustment. I went heated and airscarf. Also on the cab you have to upgrade to leather for this setup.
i couldn’t have bought the car with the Faux leather seats. That is just wrong IMO!
we have had the car for four months and done 1400 miles to long distance comfortnisnt an issue. Saying that I can’t see why I would struggle on a long journey!
one thing to note is I think they sit slightly higher than stock seats?

Question for you, my 2017 c43 coupe with upgraded AMG interior only came with Winter mats, I just picked it up and noticed under the winter mats the summer stock carpets are missing front and back... I see you have really nice AMG mats, are those OEM ? Should my C43 have come with a set of those also ? If not, where can I order them, I looked at MB Canada and cannot find AMG mats like yours .

I heard from a few people that the performance seats are not that comfortable on long drives and especially if you are heavier set (maybe a good reason to lose some weight!).
They do look really nice, but I think it looks more appropriate in a coupe or cabriolet.
Save the money, feel more comfortable and go with the standard seats.

The performance seats look like the seats in my GTS. Are they actually the same seats? If so, they are very firm and snug. I like them, but my wife does not. She much preferred the upgraded performance seats in the ZO6. She has made it very clear that her C43 must have the standard seats. I would get the awesome looking performance seats, if it were just up to me. ( C43 cabrio will be our daily driver)
