Check engine light... and gone.

I was away on a work trip and left the merc parked in the garage for 5 days. I turned it on the first night back and the check engine light was on. It was steady and no flashing. I turned the car off and back on, still on. Turned the car back off for 10 mins to do a quick visual under the hood and double check gas cap. All looked well. Turned car back on and light was gone. Took a quick drive and all seemed normal.

Does this warrant a immediate trip to dealership?

I had this happen about 5000mi ago, but it happened while driving. Made it about 10 houses down the street, CEL popped up, car dipped in to limp mode for the distance of two driveways, then went back to normal and the CEL went away. No issues immediately after or since.

Unless it's static and/or recurring, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Get it scanned either at a local automotive shop or mercedes. The code should be stored in the ECU until its reset.

I picked up a dongle off amazon just in case. Combined with a iphone app i can just check and reset the cel if need be. The apps allow you to track and test things like 0-60 times. Well worth the $26.($16 for the dongle and $10 for the app)
