A day on the dark side at MCC

I want to preface this by saying I am not, or ever have been a BMW guy. I can count on 1 hand the number of Bimmers I have actually liked over the years. I have preferred an Audi or MB to everything BMW made from every generation. And with that said...I spent yesterday at Monticello Motor Club doing their "taste of the track" in a new M4 with an instructor sitting shotgun. WHAT A DAY!
FYI Monticello Motor Club is an over the top facility about 2 hours North of NYC. They offer members their own private garages, full detailing, mechanics, and they are currently buildings homes for members who prefer staying over, rather than taking a chopper back to the city. The clubhouse is very nice, but the track is AMAZING. The whole track is over 3.5 miles and can be split into 2 tracks for busy days.
I got to drive ***** out for 6 20 minute sessions in someone else's car and it was GREAT. That M4 is something. I drove a metallic urine car with a DCT, comp pack, and Michelin SS tires (which I absolutely roasted). The car was really impressive, but it felt heavy. The upshifts were BRUTAL, tripping the TCS even into 3rd gear. The noise was annoying. It is an awful sounding car. It is fake sounding and rang through my head with my helmet on. On the North Course I got up to 130MPH before the switchback. I was fast out there. My instructor had me passing everyone else out there. I even passed a Radical SR3 at one point.
I also had the opportunity to do some karting shortly after the rain. Can you say drifting? We also got to drive some Polaris side by sides. These things has a 170HP turbo motor. All I can say is that I would pull a Sonny Bono within minutes if I owned one of these. They are stupid fast, and can take ANYTHING.
Overall, great day, great place! I'll be back.
Here is a video I took while my instructor did a hot lap of the full course.

Nice! I'd love to do something like that. I haven't driven the new M3/4 but they seem like a blast of a good time!

Nice I did the BMW M Track Day at MMC this summer. It's only $250, well worth it. They should have it again next year, I hope. https://mtrackdays.bmwusa.com/

Skip to 2:15 for actual driving

You mention the Polaris that's the slingshot correct? 170 hp wet weight 1800 lbs...Want fast that ain't it.. My BMW K1200S Wet weight 535lbs and 172 hp 10 sec quarter mile.. All about the power to weight ratio :-) But the Slingshot looks like fun..

Not the slingshot, I'm talking about these 2 seat ATVs.
Air time woo woo.
Eww slongshots are very uncool. No one like trikes, not even folks with mobility issues.
These ATVs are more capable than anything I've ever driven. They put my Jeep to shame. Pedal down, drifting through a mud trail inspires confidence in them. I couldn't own one of these. I'd hit the trees harder than Sonny Bono, oh no.
