Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act
For those that don't know..Basically the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act allows one to use after market parts, do ones own service as long as the parts used are OE or of equivalent quality and receipts are provided. Manufacturer also can't deny warranty coverage on items that are non- causal.. Or if the parts used are OE or can be proved to be essentially equivalent. So if you put a big Honking Carbon Spoiler on your C300 and the AC quits they can't deny coverage because a Spoiler no matter how fugley it might look is not causal. If you put Bosch wiper blades on and the windshield wiper motor craps out you should be ok.. as long as they fit correctly...
That said pull your calipers and have them painted and then one seizes up and trashes the caliper, rotor etc.. You are screwed.. Put an ECU Tune on, and anything drive train related fails you'll be screwed.. Use an Aftermarket Oil filter, or spacers and aftermarket wheels and the AWD system takes a dump.... well you get the point. While the car is under the manufactures warranty be careful with what stuff you mess with. :-) Just my .02 worth and 20 years in the car biz..
