Racechip performance testing
I got my C43 Coupe back in May but definitely felt that more power was needed. After some research I decided to go for the Racechip Ultimate piggyback.
While the "butt dyno" definitely gave the impression that the car was faster (it pulls way harder), I wanted to get some real figures.
So I ordered a Vbox and here are the results...
Best 0 - 60: 3.8s (didn't get a picture in time so you'll have to settle with a 3.9 pic!)
Best 0 - 100: 9.7s
The road was a bit damp so I might go out again tomorrow and see if I can reliably hit a 3.8 0 - 60 and try and get an even better 0 - 100.
What do you guys think of the results?

Nice! A couple of questions:
1. Why didnt you get the BLACK GTS tune?
2. What was your 0-60 and 0-100 time before the RACECHIP?
3. Does your car retain all of its normal/original drive mode functions? Like Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ functions, do they behave normally?
4. How accurate is RACELOGIC?

2 - Unfortunately this isn't something I know. I mounted the chip in a place that's very awkward to get to so would rather not remove it for a few tests. Most tests of stock cars I have seen put them around 4-5 - 4.8.
3 - Everything behaves normally.
4 - I believe they are *very* accurate.

Took the car out again tonight for a few more runs and the results are in! Roads were dry but I still think there's maybe a little more room for improvement in the 0 - 100.
0 - 60: 3.8 seconds
0 - 100: 9 seconds dead
Overall I am thrilled with the performance of this car now

1 - I bought my Ultimate from "old stock". They reduced the power output of the Ultimate at the same time they released the GTS Black to make the GTS Black more appealing. My Ultimate actually delivers similar power gains to the current GTS Black.

Was something I noticed myself. They have a very low turnover and I purchased it just after the GTS Black was launched so it was obviously not going to be an updated (gimped) unit

I also posted some info on a RaceChip Ultimate Connect for C43 at:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...er-anyone.html
Looks like you're getting similar results. I'm guessing your fuel is closer to 95 octane without any ethanol content and that may yield slightly better results.

I am nowhere near 3.8s measuring with Dragy.

if you are just smashing the accelerator without torque braking there is no way you will be getting sub 4 second 0-60. According to my dragy I’ve done it in 3.75 with only a bms jb1 on 93 map 2. Prolly can improve on that with tweaking map 6. But no torque break, you may get a 4.3-4.6 0-60 if you’re lucky

I only had it for as long as it took to test the racechip and then sold it on afterwards so cannot comment
I was getting very reliable 3.8s to 60 on various different stretches of road - nearly all were very flat. The car has no other performance mods.

hey ShakyTom, do you mind me asking why you sold it? Was there any issues you ran into?

I kept mine so I can fine tune the map 6 on the JB1. Now if I just had the time lol. I've used it on the 1/8 mile, and it is usually within a .02 if not less. It's pretty accurate. A lot more accurate than I expected it to be. Besides, it's only $150 lol
