Brake pads

Has anyone changed their brake pads yet? I’m just over 16k miles and my indicator just came on. It turns on and off intermittently, is that normal? I don’t hear any noises from the brakes and it seems a little early to have to change already. With how I understand brake sensors, shouldn’t it just either stay on or stay off?

You are correct, once the pad wears the surface of the sensor the light stays on------why not learn something and pull one of the wheels and inspect the sensor----wada you see regarding pad thickness and or sensor connection!!

You are under the brake wear and tear warranty which is I think around 30k km. The dealership should change your pads and rotors for free.

Forgive me I did not know we had a wear and tear warranty.

Is that with every car or is a add on option?

Really? I looked that up and it sounds like it's only for cars sold in Canada.

I just left a message for my SA so hopefully they get back to me on it. I drive in ECO during my commutes (accounts for probably ~80-85% of my miles) so I feel having to replace pads at this point is incredibly quick.

I had my rear brake pads changed about 2 months ago with 22,000 kms on it. The dealer changed mine for free as its covered under the 2 year wear and tear warranty (maybe just in Canada however).

I just changed my brake pad and rotors last week at 8800 miles. I heard some noise coming from the front passenger wheel and decided to take it in for a check up. My service advisor said I'm near to using 50% of my pads.
He was nice enough to mention a good word to the technician to get me both brake pads and rotors under warranty. Noise is still there, isn't as bad but who can complain in this situation.

Wear and Tear Warranty for Canadian cars is one of the great advantages of buying up north. I imported my Canadian C63 from Canada and had to pay out of pocket for my brake jobs

Update for those interested: Dealer says the front rotors are warped but they are covered under warranty. However, all 4 pads are worn and they are not covered since they're considered wear and tear. Looks like our Canadian friends have an extra benefit that those of us in the states don't get
