Rear headrests

Was driving today and looked back at the headrests...and they look a bit different than I was expecting. The ones on the site were of a lower profile but my car arrived with higher ones. Needless to say, the visibility isn't great out of the back window, so having lower profile rear headrests would be dandy.

Expectation: https://www.autocar.co.uk/sites/auto...?itok=2ptO3Z2A
Delivered: http://st.automobilemag.com/uploads/...rior-seats.jpg

Anyone here with the lower profile headrests? Is this a North America vs Europe regulation thing?

I did think about doing that, but not really interested in removing them. They are safety devices, and I don't like the idea of compromising passenger safety for my vanity. Similarly, I don't want to stuff them in the trunk in case they are needed at some point. Some lower profile headrests or ones that slid down the seat until needed would be good.

Btw. This movie came out when it was still socially acceptable to demasculinize other men without offending gay men. I take no responsibility for the quote even though I posted it because I though it appropriate for the situation.

@cenzo86, I take it you've never been, or know anyone who has been in an (air bag deployed) auto accident!? I stand by my statement. Not willing to compromise the safety of anyone riding in my vehicle.

Just a shot in the dark, but maybe it's because you're comparing a euro spec to a non-euro spec c43. There are minor differences between our cars and theirs. Perhaps the headrests are one of them?

Yeah, could very well be. In the OP I asked the same question...just trying to get some confirmation, perhaps from the folks in the EU. Note the Canadian site shows the lower profile head rests...though I know that doesn't mean much since the site has all the appropriate disclaimers about pics may not be representative of the actual equipment available.

Whoops, I didn't see that haha. I'm willing to bet that is the reason though. Also, you're correct about the site, since the rear of the car does not show the "bumperretes" beside the license plate either.

Are the rear seat headrests that hard to put back in if you did pull them out to put in the trunk for better rear window disability?

I mean,if you don't carry rear passengers frequently, couldn't this still be an option?

Thanks, but that wouldn't really be a solution for me. I don't want them sloshing around in the trunk (damage and all), and i don't want to be bothered to retrieve them ever time I have a rear passenger.

Guess no one has a definitive answer?! if not, we can let this thread die.

Take them to an upholstery shop and have them cut down to any size you like

not a bad suggestion. Thanks.

I may look into doing that.
