mbrace remote start
Hey Everyone,
I have a 2017 c43 and love the remote start in this weather. I can not figure out how to keep the car running when I unlock the doors. Is this possible?
Thanks!

Yeah ya can't get around it unfortunately. So stupid. If the car is unlocked with the fob, I don't understand what turning the car off will do to prevent theft. I mean, you already have the fob so you can just start the car regardless.

Wouldn't your remote start experience have been even BETTER these past cold mornings if in addition to the engine starting, the driver's heated seat, outside heated mirrors, and the front & rear window defrosters all activated as well...like less expensive vehicles do?

Absolutely plus it would be nice to not have to get gas way more often since it requires 5 gallons in the tank to work.

Meanwhile, Honda civics come with remote start on the key fob 😁

Agree, plus in this cold weather 10 mins isn't enough time to fully warm up the car. It's sad that the app has not really improved in years.

As far as i know the time is regulated by EPA.
In Hyundai the engine is running for like 30 seconds before the engine shuts off unless you push the brake pedal. Also, with Blue Link you can enable heating, even set a temp, mirrors and the front & rear window defrosters..

Error with MercedesME App Remote Start Feature
Hello, everyone--
I am new to this forum, and I apologize if I have posted this in the wrong place. I am hoping to get help with the remote start feature of the Mercedes Me app. All of the other features (find my car, remote locks, Send2Benz) work fine, but every time I try to start my car remotely with the app, I get the error message that it cannot start. It suggests that my doors or moon roof could be unlocked/open, but this is not the case. I have called mBrace, but that was no help. Here's the strange thing: when I asked the dealer for help, it worked. I am wondering if it could be refusing to start because my car is parked in a small, single car garage. (I always open the garage door first with my remote to make sure there will not be a carbon monoxide build-up in there, but maybe the car can sense the close quarters?) This has been really frustrating, especially during this recent East coast "bomb vortex" cold snap. Has anyone else experienced this issue and figured out a way to correct it? My car is a 2017 E300. I am running the app on a Galaxy S7 Edge (Android) phone.
Thank you!

My app was working fine until this last week. But of course with the weather negative 7 at times it would not connect to the car. All and all the app just flat out sucks

1. Open all windows all the way.
2. Close all windows all the way.
3. Open sunroof all the way.
4. Close sunroof all the way.
5. Shut off car.
6. Exit and lock vehicle.
7. Launch app.
8. Use remote start button in app.
He explained that this resets the security settings that prevent the app from executing a remote start. It worked for me. Good luck!

As others have posted, it's important to call mbrace by pressing the "i" button in your Benz. When they call up your account on their end, it does something (I believe) to refresh your connection. The tech who assisted me today (William) was very helpful. Here is what he had me do today. Maybe it will work for you without calling mbrace.
1. Open all windows all the way.
2. Close all windows all the way.
3. Open sunroof all the way.
4. Close sunroof all the way.
5. Shut off car.
6. Exit and lock vehicle.
7. Launch app.
8. Use remote start button in app.
