Performance exhaust issues

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Recently it seems like one or both of my exhaust actuators stopped working. I definitely noticed the difference in sound (doesn't change its character when hitting the exhaust button) and it seems like top end power is off. I made an appointment with the dealer but they are booked solid until next week.

Anyone else have this issue and or have a fix?

There have been some cases reported where the 2 wires that feed the valve-switch get too close to the exhaust and get melted/shorted. You might want to have a quick look under the rear of the car.

I had an issue with my performance exhaust not responding to the button when pressed and would open and close at random. They ordered a whole new exhaust, both pipes. Under warranty so it was okay. Easiest way to see if they are closed (or open) is to look into the tailpipe with a flashlight and see if the butterfly flap is where it should be when the button is on or off.

Exhaust broken again

Okay so I had brought my car into the dealership about a month ago for the issues above. After a couple of days with the dealer they replaced both exhaust actuators, when I got the car back the issue was definitely fixed. Fast forward a couple of weeks and again the flaps are not opening. Is anyone else with a performance exhaust having these recurring problems?
Also how long does it take to get an appointment at your dealership, with my two issues it's taken two weeks each time to get an appointment which is really starting to irritate me.

That sounds unfortunate, my first thought here was you said they replaced the actuators. I imagine that was there attempt to reduce the warranty cost on them. My dealer replaced both mufflers so I imagine that is a bit more $$ for the dealer than an actuator, if the issue still persists I would ask them if they believe a replacement of the mufflers will solve it. I assumed my actuators were bad since they just opened and closed at random, but they said they just replaced that whole exhaust back end. also, two weeks while bad is pretty much what I see. If you have a couple MB dealers near you. Shop around and some may offer doing X to fix that others wouldn’t have thought of

I replaced both of mine. I have been running now on the new ones for two months, no problems yet.

I can’t comment on the flap issue but the two week appointment waits are ridiculous! What’s the delay? Lack of loaners? If there’s another dealership in your area i’d take it there instead.

My driver side exhaust valve wasn't functioning properly. Dealer replaced both exhausts, car has been fine.
