C43 COUPE WEIGHS MORE THAN C43 SEDAN???
So I have a 2017 c43 SEDAN, and I just installed a ECU chip which sets me at 434HP instead of the OEM 367HP.
I asked my friend who has the C43 coupe if he's down to be in my next YouTube video because I want to film us from a dig (0-60) etc... to see the comparison, and I just looked up the curb weight
2017 C43 SEDAN Curb Weight: 3,759
2018 C43 COUPE Curb Weight: 3,908
I always assumed coupe's weighed less? Am I reading the wrong info??
Also - Here is a link with my c43 sedan without a resonator and muffler

Sedan is the lightest trim. Next is Coupe and then Cabriolet being the fattest.
The car sounds great with the res and muffler delete.

A lot of the reason the coupe weighs more is because it comes standard with the panorama roof while the sedan does not. When both are equipped with the panorama roof the weight difference is basically negligible.
Observe these two cars. Both have the panorama roof and the as-tested weights are 3908 lbs (coupe) and 3900 lbs (sedan).

More important than all of the above is a bottleneck concept, which DRLC43 touches on. Structural rigidity is crucial on the Cab. Since the cab and coupe are the same at the core, it makes sense from a manufacturing standpoint to beef up the entire platform. If they didn't, there'd be three production lines for the frames (sedan, coupe AND cab) instead of two (sedan and coupe/cab). In the end, it all comes out to a wash. Move along. Nothing to see here.
