Honest Input

Hello all, I'm a newbie here - picked up my C43 Cabriolet last June. I'm seriously considering an AMR stage one tune this Spring and would like honest input on it. I understand it's good for about 90 more horsepower. My concerns are regarding altering the characteristics of the car negatively. For those that have had it done is the drivability ie. shifting , engine smoothness still intact? Also, any things that you don't like about it? I'm retired and still actively doing drives and events Watkin's Glen Vintage festival among my favorites. I don't really want to deal with major problems at this stage. Any input would be very appreciated. As an aside I sold my S2000 of 15 years and my Gla 250 to buy this car. My S was extensively modded, supercharged with 405 at the rear wheels.

You should honestly really consider Eurocharged. Their new V3 tune makes more power and way more torque for more than half off compared to AMR lol. I honestly still do not know why people still go AMR (not to bash them) unless its local to them maybe. As for me with the Eurocharged V3 my trans and engine smoothness remains the same as stock. I literally love everything about the new tune. Torque is effortless and the power is just amazing. There is a thread right below as they are offering an amazing price of $799. Just some food for thought. Goodluck!

lol This. Unless you're local to AMR, I don't know why you'd spend a second thought going there. Their stage 1 is slow, and their stage 2 is over-compensating with 20PSI. They don't know how to actually fix any problems, thats why they continuously ask people to go for dealer updates. You notice that no other tuning house is doing that - because they actually know what they're doing. Rob at AMR should stick to Subaru's and get out of the market he knows nothing about.

So what about the issue with Eurocharged I read on this board, about the check engine light being on once the tune is installed and then going away after you drive the car for a few hundred miles, that doesn't sound good either.

Funny you mention that - that was an AMR car, not one, but several.

The only CEL that EC cars had was related to cruise control, which was resolved two versions ago.

I believe it was the poster Munis but I could be wrong- People were stating that the tune threw a code and after driving for several hundred miles the check engine light went out, I believe this was the V2 Eurocharged version- but I am not positive.

Munis actually had EC, and AMR. He's the one that discovered the issue with cruise control for EC. But he's the one with endless issues with AMR.

Ok, that is good news, I live 2 hours from AMR but I would rather do the Euro for the price performance and feedback on this board.

When I got the EC tune, there was a bug with the car going into limp in cruise control. This was fixed in the final version of V2. By the time EC fixed this, I already jumped to AMR because of their reputation for stability in MBworld. I will write an entire thread on how that went as soon as I sort out a few things.

Congrats on the C43, while it's not as nimble as the S2k, it's a fun car to drive.

I'm not here to push xyz tune I'm here for some WGI love, used to get up there 2-3 times a year.
