Thoughts on the 2019 facelift?

I also disagree that the diamond grille looks better than the twin-blade design. However, I do think our car is not quite aggressive enough or just lacks a proper front splitter/lip to make it work as the C63 does.

- the following article suggests that the C43 engine gets the E43 engine's turbos (and that they're larger than the C43's):

[insert "benz boost" (without the space) for the asterisks ... really MBworld, you auto-astisk other site names?!]
+ that seems to make sense since HP = (ft. lb. x RPM) / 5252 and, when I look at the MAP readings I get via KiWi ODB/Harry's Laptimer I see that boost starts to fall off above about 5100 RPM and, looking at AMG's published HP/torque graphs, so does the torque (with the peak being fairly constant starting at around 2000 and continuing through about 4000 RPM)
+ thus, if the larger turbos have more higher-RPM boost capacity that results in less torque drop-off above 5100 RPM, that'd develop the additional HP at a higher RPM -- all while still maintaining the same/stated peak torque rating of 384 ft. lb.
+ while all this "seems logical," there _is_ all this discussion going on, as well:

- personally, one of the things I like _most_ about my 2017 C43 sedan's styling is the "floating diamonds" grille (this is obviously just personal taste)
- personally, I happen to like the pre-facelift exhaust-tip styling (again, just personal taste)
- I do like the facelift's more aggressive-looking rear diffuser but (except for the grille) can "take or leave" the (other) front-end styling changes
- the updated infortainment screens look like they'll be a nice improvement
- while I understand that the new steering-wheel controls likely add additional useability (i.e., with the new infotainment system), personally, I find the updated steering wheel looks too "posh" to be in a performance vehicle (in fact, I think it's downright ugly in comparison to the previous version)

1. the difference in power is marginal
2. they already knew that they would be replacing it in 2 years
We are talking about a company that used THE SAME 3 valve / cylinder design for all of its V6 and V8 engines (AMG included) from 1997 all the way to 2006. Even their rims were all casted from the same molds as they all had the same offsets. All the same interior designs, even now the outsides AND insides look the same. You really think a company like that is gonna make 2 turbos for like 30more hp and no extra torque on a platform that already makes close to 400hp even at the time when they knew it would be gone really really soon?
I vote no.
But I wouldn't to say they are totally non-functional. it helps direct airflow around the front corners of the car past the wheel well which prevents a lot of drag.
And the front intakes actually are open to where the exit is at the side of the car. So they look mildly functional aero bits to divert air to the side of the car.
