Tuning and downpipes
1. What the best tune that is reliable for the c43?
2. What downpipes are the best in quality for the c43 with the performance exhaust?

1. No tunes seem to be reliable on this forum. Choose between a) AMR or Eurocharged b) Renntech or Brabus c) Piggybacks: Dinan, Racechip, BMS
2. Weistec. Also Armytrix has downpipes as well as someone who owns a small company on this forum.

What do you mean, no tunes seem to be reliable? EC and JB1 seem pretty solid. Do you have either or just speculating?

If you read other threads that ask the same question you'll encounter a huge ****fest.

If the downpipes have 200 cells on them do you still need to a tune/flash the computer? I guess the question should state. Is a tune/flash needed to avoid any dashboard check engine lights? Or is it a straight install? Also does the tranny need to be dropped to avoId cutting then OEM downpipes and pulling them out in one piece?

Don’t waste your money on downpipes. They lose power on our cars. Something related to back pressure I believe..
Before someone brings up stage 2 cars running good times- this is true, they are, but they’re running significantly more boost to compensate the power loss. If a car is running 15psi with downpipes, and without, the car without will make more power. EC Canada has confirmed this with several cars.

I was going to go with the AMR Street Tune in July, but since I already have the AMG PE, I wasn't going to look at any downpipe options....car is loud enough yet purrs like a kitten, and I don't really care to make it louder and spend the money just to get a few more HP out of the tune. Thoughts? Am I crazy to not install DP before the tune if I already have the AMG PE? Thanks!

Not at all, I personally don't like how these cars sound with downpipes. I am in a lease and plan on buying a JB1 or JB4 because it is less expensive and takes 10 minutes to uninstall it if you go to the dealership.
You do not need downpipes to gain significant power.
