Compared to the 2018 model do you think the sound is a bit muted? Or just a different tone?

I compared my exhaust (2017 PE) with a friend's (2019 PE) and it is noticeably more muted.

Whether that differs in other markets I do not know.

definitely a different tone, I had a 2015 m3 and i was telling my sales manager that this sound way louder and aggressive on idle.

Thanks for taking this picture today! It was great meeting you in person and seeing your car this afternoon. Your car in black/brown looks so sharp! I just got back home from Maryland and realized that I hadn't taken any pictures of the car during delivery, so I'm really glad you took this.

I'd also like to note the following:
1. Thank you Steve and Shahul for making this the best car buying experience that I've ever had! From ordering the car and making sure that nothing was missing to signing papers with Pedro to delivering the car (making sure not to wash it so I can detail the car and making sure the front plates weren't drilled in), you made sure that everything was perfect. My wife and I both can't thank the you enough. It was definitely worth the mini road trip from NJ!

2. Driving impressions - I managed to keep the revs under 4000 RPMs (somehow) on the drive back. I even put it in sport+ a couple of times and/or downshifted to give the engine revs some variation on the highways going back home. I can tell the car is going to be amazing once the break-in period is over. I'm just happy that I got about 250 miles on the drive back, because staying disciplined during the break-in period is going to be extremely tough. I'm also really happy that I ordered the car with the stock 18 in wheels. Once we got to Jersey City/Hoboken/Weehawken, I was reminded how bad the roads are compared to the roads we drove through in MD/DE/PA. Even with runflats, which I'm planning to swap out, the ride was smooth in comfort mode over some terrible roads by our place.

There's not much to be disciplined about, as long as you don't do a "kick-down" the Car won't Rev past 4'500 RPM. It holds the RPM there and the Display shows (In german on mine of course) "Break-In Period, don't exceed 4'500 RPM) and then Shift-Up.

This is either new or a DE-spec feature. No one has ever mentioned this in the US.

Agreed, I have not heard of this. I would love this electronic parenting for the 1st 1K. With all the delays, I will need to give myself a pep talk each day to be reasonable when I get behind the wheel of the vehicle that is currently in a remote lot in Alabama with no estimate of delivery.

I picture it free in a field, galloping with other C43s, but realistically, its sitting there, outside, likely longer than it will ever be outside of a covered parking spot or garage. It will probably need re-waxed and sealed soon after delivery.

Yah I will really need that. The amount of miles I drive has really taken a nosedive since I've moved to the Chicago area. I take the train everywhere and even when I do drive on weekends, things are pretty close. I'm going to have to find a road trip or it's going to legitimately take me two months+ to get over 1,000 miles.

In this case, our cars are absolutely galloping together. Probably talking about the options they wanted on their drivers.

When they say "remote lot," I wonder how far away it is? I did a google map stalking session of the plant and everything looks to be on-site. So this lot must be far enough away.
