2019 C43 cleared VPC but still waiting
Hey everyone, awesome forum -- long-time lurker, first-time poster...
I placed my order for a fully loaded 2019 C43 AMG in December. The SA assured me that the car would be at the dealership no later than March 20. I arranged to extend my BMW lease an extra month, and then I would have to rent a car for a week or two to bridge the time (no big deal). On March 8, my SA quit his job, so I have a new SA who I have been working with. He informed me that the car was built on March 14, and cleared VPC / ready for pickup by carrier on March 18. But since then, he has had no more updates.
Does anyone know:
(a) Why a purchased car would sit for a week at VPC without being picked up by the carrier, or
(b) How long does it typically take for a car to be picked up from VPC in Alabama and delivered to the dealer? I am in Indiana.
The SA told me yesterday that the car has now been "hot listed" by the VPC, which in his words means "it is urgent, and they are expediting it as best as they can." Is this a real thing, or is he just telling me what I want to hear?
I am a little gun shy from this whole process, because I went through this with MB 3 years ago with a custom order. The car sat at VPC in Baltimore for six months, and I finally cancelled the order. I thought I would give this a try again, but this is starting to feel all too familiar.
Thanks in advance for any insight that you can provide!

All par for the course, very similar to my order. Was ready for pickup and hot listed for 2 weeks before being loaded on transport. Arrived at the dealership 2 weeks or so after finally being loaded on the train/truck. It was frustrating, but totally worth the wait.
