Weird: AMG and C43 Emblems are "Tilted"
Hi everyone, I just purchased a 2018 C43 AMG Coupe and came across a weird "defect" ?
If you look online, unlike the European counterparts which doesn't have the 2 safety blocks in the back, US and Canadian C43 Coupe's have a tilted AMG and C43 emblems. I recently plasti dipped my emblems black and it is very apparent now. I will add a picture later (at work atm) but you can simple check it on google images (type 17 or 18 c43 coupe rear and look for cars with safety blocks, amg emblem is tilted towards the diffuser). I am not sure if I should contact MB and ask them for a replacement or this is already a known issue ?
Thanks,
A

There can be quality control issues with badges.
I have to have my “biturbo” badge replaced Friday.

I’ve typically noticed this on coupes and I thought it was normal.

Yeah man, that looks crooked. The C43 is crooked as well. Mistakes can be made applying these badges. Just like how the "I" in my "BITURBO" badge is crooked.
That gangster lean to the badging is not present on this vehicle:

guessing that they are parallel to the trunk edge which then makes them appear crooked - they should be set with a slight angle upwards toward the middle to combat the optical illusion/shape of the deck lid
just get rid of them entirely.. lol

It might be a thing where the "night package" cars are changed by the dealers and not the factory and therefore not put on with as much care?
The "I" in biturbo would be the easiest letter to move and thats the direction it would likely tilt from a car wash brush catching it...
Just a theory. Dealer should be able to fix them easily though.

Dealer ordered a new set of letters and replaced them all. The technician, Michael, did such an outstanding job that his work looks better than the factory job on the other side. Don’t know if he’s on the board, but he deserved a shout-out.
Please excuse how filthy my car is. A few shots after replacement:
