Exhaust Valve

Does anyone know if the non-performance exhaust 43’s have a valved exhaust? A tuner told me they do but I’m not buying it. There’s no visible flap module.

There are no valves on the standard U21 Sport Exhaust.

Curious, if there are no valves in non-PE then how it gets louder in S+?

Does it get louder in S+? Sounds more aggressive on the overrun perhaps, but I don’t think it’s louder.

other cars in this segment have a flap to open when at WOT - it seems this might be the case here too?

C43 only has the left and right muffler valves, no valve in center section like the C63.

I think it just seems louder in S+ because the engine idle rpm is raised.

No H-pipe on non-PE... I wish it did though, hahaha!

Not even dual pipes...

That's interesting, my car sounds the same in Comfort, Sport and Sport+. I've never found it to be louder in Sport+, same noise level as in Comfort.

It definitely gets louder in Sport +. The flaps open completely and the idle speed increases.

Non PE has no flaps. There was a question from post #3 “Curious, if there are no valves in non-PE then how it gets louder in S+?”

Sorry thought you were talking about Amg PE equipped cars.
I'd hate to have an AMG without one !

I really don’t know if I still think that way after driving it for a few months now, the non PE exhaust is sometimes unbearably loud especially on upshifts, I am now trying to find ways to make it quieter.

Yeah that's I mean, I wouldn't want to own a NON Performance equipped car ie one with a standard exhaust.

Absolutely the performance exhaust really makes the car. It sounds great. When I was searching for my car with the dealer. I made sure it had it and the rest of the other stuff I felt was important.
