I started my wife's car today and her car is awfully loud at idle. More like a loud ticking. Car only has 5,000 miles on it so I wouldn't think it needs an oil change...

Can you replicate the sound on video and post it?

Oil is the lifeblood of these engines. I get mine changed every year or 5,000 miles. 7 or 7.5 quarts of Mobil 1 0W-40 Full Synthetic Oil (or 5W-40, depending on your climate and needs). I've just let the dealer use their MB-branded oil and I keep a few quarts of the Mobil 1 0W-40 in case I ever need a top off.
