Passenger airbag off light always on
Hi,
I got a 2019 C43 a week ago. If I recall correctly the passenger air bag off light wasn’t permanently on. However, now it remains lit as long as there is no passenger in the front seat. Is this normal? Should this light turn off after a minute when seat unoccupied? See attached pic.

Look closely at the indicator. If someone is in the seat it will change as it has a load sensor. When no one is in the seat it will switch off the airbag to reduce the damage if you have a crash. If it goes off, the entire dash panel will have to be replaced. If you place a child or child seat in the seat, it will stay off as they will be injured more by the airbag than they will without it.

I am still unclear????? I have been driving my 2016 C-300 MB for two weeks, with NO amber warning lights...... Yesterday I had the dealership install the lighted star on the font grill. Approximately, 30 minutes later as I turned my car on the "Passenger Air Bag OFF" light came on. I have two car sale persons, saying this is normal....Both have sat in my passenger seat, and the light switched to "ON".
But the amber light did not go off?? Either "ON" or "OFF".... Is this normal for this lights to be on during normal driving???
