"17 vs 19" face-lifted 43 AMG
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm in the search for a lightly used 43 AMG sedan in Europe.
My question is if it's worth to push 5 to 10k more to get the the face-lifted one? Difference could be even more as either way I want one with a performance exhaust as retrofitting or other valved exhaust is quite expensive.
I've read a long extensive thread here if the new one has bigger turbos but to me is still unclear as I'm planning to get a tune but not chasing crazy numbers but was wondering if the gains on the new one would be greater.
Well, I'd anyone experiences both was wondering what they think about it.
Thanks,
Bogdan
Not sure what you refer to by wheel tire damage but softer suspension sounds nice, just that is it something certain or could be placebo?

Pros for the facelift/LCI:
- The LCI cars have a much more aggressive rear diffuser and exhaust tip design (which I prefer to the pre-LCI design/configuration).
- The LCI cars have the ability to be equipped with more tech (including the 12.3" digital instrument cluster).
- New steering wheel design on the '19s is very nice.
Pros for the pre-facelift:
- I prefer the front bumper and diamond grille design on the pre-LCI.
- The PE on my '18 seems a bit louder and more anti-social (more burbles, crackles, and pops) than what I experienced when driving the LCI cars.
Can't go wrong with either choice. It all comes down to personal preference with respect to the aesthetics.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Both Merc and Audi on 19s. Regardless of wheel size, I drive in an environment where on a typical day I will cross maybe 50 to 60 speed humps. The Audi has stiffer suspension damping in Comfort than the Merc in Sport+. The oscillations of the suspension of the Merc in Comfort is ridiculous, and only begins to become controlled in Sport+.

The exhaust note I feel is a bit deeper and louder when you get on the throttle. For me there is no contest especially at this time get the 2019. I can definitely feel the power bump in the high end and the power delivery is smoother which I actually quite enjoy. You can play with the throttle a lot now to make it drive like an old man car or really get aggressive. I am a techy so for me having mercedesme and tons of telemetry data is always attractive.

Everyone gives the opinion it's alot more comfortable and the damping better controlled.
