Is there any way to start up in Individual mode?

On my 2017, I had to push up 3 times to get to individual mode, this does it for you. You even see it working as soon as you start the car. The car starts up in comfort, and then almost immediately switches from Comfort to Sport to Sport+ to Individual.
I experimented and pushed the switch down while it was switching and it basically canceled the change. No harm at all.
I can't believe how something this silly has made me so happy.

Could you help me determine what happens on your 2017 when you push the drive select rocker down once from startup? And that pushing up once from startup only gets you to Sport mode?
I'm going to have to send this product to a relative or friend in the USA, and then get him/her to send all the way to me in Asia so I better get this right.

Like you, I really need this thing, cos I'm having to get to Individual during the start of every drive.

From bottom to top the selections are Eco-> Comfort -> Sport-> Sport+-> Individual
It would always start out in Comfort., so down once goes to Eco, and up once goes to Sport.
I would call them and speak to Mike. He was very helpful and answered all of my questions.

Probably a rule
I'm guessing that the mode the car starts in is the one they use/require for EPA certification. That would also explain the excess slop in the throttle for Comfort. I'd love to split the modes so I could use the Comfort shift pattern but have the Sport + throttle response. Instead I end up having to switch to Sport and then cycle the suspension back to Comfort....

Same on my parents S 450.
I don't understand why it's not like that on the C.

I could not find any help on this forum pertaining to getting this done on a 2019 model. It seems we are a minority who wants this feature.
Similarly, no one seems to want to have the AC recirculation always on on startup nor locked to on while driving. You will be berated if you ask for it here! 🤣

I'm just resigned to "start car". Push select button up one. Push steering wheel button to get rid of "sport ESP" warning screen. Drive car.
I'm sure it is because EPA requires the car to be tested in the mode it starts in....which is why comfort's pedal application is so useless....

In the MY2020, with the AMG Drive Unit, at least having the controls in the steering it's quite easy to setup/change anytime.
on the left you choose the most frequent and with a push of the button goes quickly. The wheel of the right you move to the desired mode, but also if you just push the button automatically goes to the Individual mode.

I just heard back from Mid City Engineering. They state that this unit will work for MY2019 vehicles: https://www.midcityengineering.com/product/eco205/
Happy to share the email thread with anyone that's curious. I'm adding this to my list for Spring.
