C43 Coupe
Joining the crack club!

Hi guys. I joined the cracked OEM rim club today! Welcome myself...

19" AMG rims, 2017 C43 coupe

After getting 2 ruptures on the rear driver's tire a month ago, I find my front passenger tire losing 15 psi over night. I drove it to work with 23+/- psi but it greeted me with 8 psi when I came out of the office at the end of the day.

A shop had a look at the tire but reported back with a crack at the lip of the inner side of the wheel; crack is on the sidewall of the flange. I must have ran over a large pothole a couple weeks ago but not sure why it didn't start leaking then.

My plan is to switch to my winters early and then have a bit more time to decide what to do with the damaged wheel.
Do you guys just repair the cracked wheels at a shop? Weld? I suppose this would compromise the material strength; have you guys seen any re-appearance of the crack at the same spot?

Isn't a remanufactured rim likely to be a welded rim?

i been using the remanufactured rim for 8 months now.
no problem, no leaks or anything.
it' possible the remanufactured rim is from bent or scratched rim.

Bogus,
This is how you do it:

You just have to find a shop with a decent welder who's actually proud of his work.
