C450/C43 Suspension issue.
C450/C43 Suspension issue.
So my car has an issue with the suspension. When I put the car in drive it automatically sets the suspension into AMG Sport. Pushing the button to change it doesn’t work at all. Even if I change the Dynamic setting. E to C to S to S+ the suspension doesn’t change. If I turn the car off and turn it back on and not put it into gear such as Drive or Reverse I can change the suspension setting fine. Once it goes into gear that’s when it just defaults to AMG Sport and nothing I do makes it any better.
Has anyone else has or had this problem before? It’s very frustrating that I can’t drive normally without some sort of stiffness constantly being in Sport mode. I called Mercedes and set an appointment to get it looked at.

I had this same issue and my dealer had the car for three weeks. For me, it was the cpu for the airmatic suspension.
Fun facts that I learned, was when the suspension button defaults to one light on the left and does not respond to pressing, that this is an error indicator. At first the dealership was saying it was stuck in Sport suspension, but it was actually not functioning at all.

I had the same issue with mine. It was an "accelerator sensor" on one of the dampers.
Pharmdood, I don't understand what you mean with "airmatic suspension", the C450/C43 doesn't have airmatic.

Fix?

Mine (C450) had this same issue. The suspension control module had failed and the dealer replaced the module under warranty and it has been fine since. This was about three years ago. I can get the part number if it would be helpful.
Yes please, that would be a big help if you could get the part number. I just put out a post yesterday talking about the same problem on my c450. Do you know if that module seems to be the common culprit with other cars as well?
Thanks!
Thanks!

The part number is: 222-900-06-12. The tech noted that toggling the suspension control button resulted in no change to the suspension firmness indicator lights. He also noted that a code was stored indicating that there was no communication with the suspension module from the left front headlamp module (strange wiring Mercedes!).
As for how prevalent this problem is... good question! I only know that I am not the only who had to have this module replaced. After they replaced it (in 2017) the car has had no further suspension control issues.

Can you please give me the number part? Thank
